Life as a system integrator as we know it: we pushed the button as instructed, and it didn't work. It must be the developers' fault for not coding it properly, and the testers' fault for not testing it thoroughly.

Before, when they removed Kanna creation, they also locked the first map that Kanna appears in in the Mapleworld. As a result, your character was automatically dropped in Henesys and even if you attempted to go back to complete the quests, you were unable to because you were locked out. I'm not sure if they still locked the maps, but I feel something like that is going on.
