Can anyone remind me how bad ol' Goldbeard is? Will I need a party to down him? Will my Dios set be good enough?

I can solo him with Agnaktor U and the Dios Gunlance+. Just use a Dios weapon+ (considering you're using Dios armor) and get the Felyne Pyro skill by eating Meat+Drinks at the kitchen.

They give you an Attack/Defense bonus based on your base Attack/Defense. You can hold 1 of each, and they stack, so you should have all 4 on you at any time once you can afford it for a nice bonus. It's nothing to write home about, but it helps.

Sadly had to wait an extended time to get MH3U. I ended up going with the 3DS and MH3U for 3DS as well. Can't wait to get started!

The events never end, they're quests that are released weekly that don't expire, so you can download them all at once.

I think there's a couple good ones, but they're all weapons and no armor.

Welp, I finally beat Alatreon, and I must say...I'm pretty disappointed at how Capcom handled him in this game.

Firstly, they definitely buffed him like crazy. I'm not surprised at this, considering the 4-5 minute solos that were going on in P3rd, but they buffed him excessively for a solo quest. It took me 25-30 minutes to do it with the Brachydios Bow, which Bow and Slime together are Overpowered, Kelbi Bow or Brachy Bow. Normal runs are reduced in about half, if not more (depending on the monster) when I use the Brachy Bow in comparison to a non-Slime Bow. Still took me ~25 minutes to kill him and I certainly wasn't passive. It took me 10 minutes alone to break ONE horn, and most of my shots, including ~70 Power Coatings, went directly into it.

It's very clear from the above that the Alatreon you fight in the Village Quest is DEFINITELY G Rank Strength and Health, which leads me to my next issue.

He gives High Rank Materials. So all that trouble killing a G Rank monster for High Rank Mats (Which Mark of a Hero does too, by the way, which is retarded as well). I feel like it's a punch in the face! You can't max out anything to a usable state (I doubt anyone is killing him that isn't already in G Rank gear) from him because you need G Rank Alatreon materials. The fun part? You can't get G Rank Alatreon materials until Capcom decides to release the Download Quest for Multiplayer Alatreon.

I'm not saying I don't think he should be a hard monster, I do. I just think that they went through a lot of trouble to make him a huge hassle and for what? Without the Multiplayer Alatreon he's a complete waste of time.

The worst part in all of this for me is that for all my trouble, my rewards consisted of a Webbing and 4 Scutes. I feel like I accomplished so much.

If my room is full, give me a message in game and I'll join you unless I'm really busy. If my room is full it usually means I'm playing with randoms, so I don't mind leaving them to play with someone I know, even if it means less people because it's actually more fun with less people in most situations.

His Water Beam is retarded, so make sure you have full health for when he decides to jump up to the top/bottom of the map.

You can break both of his horns.

Eat for Water Resist, you will need it.

Made a Jho sword for no other reason than I had enough crap to do so.

I want to punch my wireless signal in the face, every time I try to do multiplayer either I or someone else dc's. Its a friggin mess.

I took out Goldbeard, and to be honest, he's barely a challenge compared to the original. His water beam hurts, but so did Jho's beam. I found safe places to dodge and attack and after that, it's self explanatory.
