CarrionCrow Wrote:They can hardly make it worse than what NLs became after the last big revamp.

I can count about 8+ useless skills on NL's. I can't think of another class with that many spread out from 1st to 4th job. It's quite possible they could remove some, but add a few more similar to what the Justice update brought.

Here's where they show the small clips, if anyone wants to try to find anything. (~3:22)

Different angle. (~6:20)

And another (~0:50)

Anyone else noticed when they were showing little clips of the adventurer revamp, two of them(I believe it was a drk and pally) had the fj similar to the revamped cygnus knights?Hurt

Let me help with that (not even counting double slab, and thinking positively):
-Gust charm: Nice in theory, only hits 4 monsters a distance shorter than what you can reach. Very situational, but considering you can hit twice as much later on, it becomes a waste to be used later.
-Shadow Web: Stun things, with a single hit of 150% damage, and 100% Damage over time too. Counting damage over time, triple throw does as much damage in a single hit without venom. and the best part is that if you attack said monster, you free it from the stun.
-Dark Flare: x13 of damage received back as damage dealt. Works for the party, though, so not that useless. Use for yourself, though, is laughable, because you avoid 45% of attacks at 4th job, and have a high avoid. So it takes more time to cast it than to outdamage it. And only works at a particular area.
-Alchemic adrenaline: With the duration removed, it's nice if you use fixed hp potions... Use power elixirs or the likes, though, and it's a wasted skill. The way it is, I'd rather have a skill that has a 70% chance of not using a buffless potion upon use... Ok, I might have found the solution unwillingly.
-Frailty curse: Create an area to debuff enemies within like threaten. That sounds fabulous. Only it doesn't work on bosses. And on the only things it works on, you already kill them in one hit. Totally useless. That includes all 3 OF THE HYPER SKILLS ENHANCING IT. WHY.
-Taunt: In the time you could kill a group of monsters, you can increase the exp for another group, making you actually gain less exp. Nice skill, yes.

@Alloy: Yup. You're right on point.

The only good thing about Shadow Web is the DoT effect on bosses when they have Cancel W.Attack on.

The others are iffy at best. Dark Flare should still reflect damage when you miss normally or with Shadow Shifter because what's the point in having the skill on a class focused on naturally high Avoid. Taunt doesn't even work on bosses, and has a slow animation with a short range. Even with regular monsters, the effect won't take place if you ohko the monster (it has to survive the Taunt). It's no wonder they finally removed Stink Bomb Shot from WH's in kMST.

I'll add a few more: Nimble Body (Accuracy's useless since BB, and the Avoid boost is negligible compared to what DB's have in 1st job in Side Step, which is 15% Evasion Rate [speaking of which, we're the only Thief alongside NW's that lack an Evasion Rate skill]), TT (it's become a shell of its former self which is being the last 3rd job skill left un-maxed, and has no prerequisite for QT in 4th job), and Sudden Raid (an Ultimate with a super slow animation tied in with a ridiculous 30-60 second cooldown depending on if you max it or not which becomes again, unnecessary when you get Four Seasons that completely replaces it starting at level 170).

Sudden raid helps at magnus.

Guys... they mentioned about a world alliance... that can't be... that ALL servers versions will start to link each other? I mean MSEA player can play along a GMS one and so on...

Maybe pre-Hyper Skills, but not now. It used to be that the hit registered before the animation even finished, which would still be useful at Magnus. It seems Nexon changed it back to registering the hit only after the animation finishes now, and by then, Four Seasons would be done with its cooldown. Not only that, but you're also stuck standing still waiting for the animation to finish.

Is that only for Night Lords (possibly Shadowers too)? It doesn't work that way on my Dual Blade, the hit registers almost immediately after tapping the button (the damage doesn't show up until the animation is at that stage though). I've read this from Night Lords 2/3 times now though.

If they insist on keeping an ultimate for all classes they should give Sudden Raid an extra 4/5 hits and cut the delay in half, it sucks that it takes so long to cast and only does 1 line of damage =/

they would never connect the servers like that. alot of problems would arise from doing so. world alliances will probably be a special map or area in which all of a servers worlds can connect into, but have limitations placed on them, such as the inability to trade/drop inside the room for obvious purposes if it is not like the traditional world alliances gms has already gone through.

Apparently that's not true. Not sure 100% But I've used sudden raid on dojo's papulatus right before hiding, and it registers while it shouldn't have and it even triggers the DoT. And training it can help to kill a lane below you without you having to jump down... That's the only reason why I didn't include it on the list. It's a terrible skill, yes, but still sometimes useful. The rest of skills I mentioned are as good as not even hotkeyed.

And about the "don't jump down yet" thing... That's more because our mobility is terrible compared to most other jobs currently. Only Aran falls long behind.

Mazz: I'm not sure about Shad's, but it might only be NL's. Since the move originated from DB's, it's been broken on NL's in a few ways (like not accounting for mastery at all until Hyper Skills fixed that).

I was talking about A) when he's charging his attack and you can't him with any other attack anyway and B) the dot.

Besides, how much do you virtually think will even come to GMS? Some of the content KMS has will not be coming to GMS. What makes you think that all of the content from this will be coming as well?

They only seem to not bring over content the players don't approve of, so if we don't approve of these changes then we potentially won't see them in GMS/JMS. It all depends on how we react to their updates.
JMS never even released Mikhail(Mihile) because of overall hate from the community on how stupid it was.

Some of this stuff has potential. I mean, a total adventurer revamp is something that has long since been wanted, because of how much Adventurers have been overshadowed by the rest of the 80,000,000 classes they've released. If they don't give all Adventurers the Bucc treatment, and keep the overall core of the classes, I think it has the potential to be the best change they've ever made.

The only major thing they really need to do now is turn us away from the boring grind that the game majorly is, and with "revamps for existing content"...maybe we'll get lucky. I know the #1 main reason I stopped playing is that grinding, no matter the class or level, is just so damn boring and I have many other things I could be doing. Even newer KMMOs don't have grind in the manner that MS has always had it. If I'm going to grind, I'm going to do it in a game like Monster Hunter, with entertaining combat that always keeps me on edge, not mind numbing button mashing where I don't even need to pay attention to do it and to prevent insanity I use the UI to cover my EXP bar.

Overall this update has potential, but I have no misconceptions about how possible of a failure this can be. I have a slim vein of hope, but I don't expect anything.

I'm excited for this so far. However I want to wait for more detail. This update seems awesome so far, but we need more details. Which we will get in June. Overall its exciting however and I most likely will start up maple again due to this update. Big Grin Also this update is going to come to GMS most likely starting of winter. So there's still a long wait. Exciting none of the less. Pumped to get more details of this update., great direction so far. The part where it says nx users will have the same experience as non nx users is amazing.

Aslong as this nerfs kaisers, I'll be sorta ok with it (unless they nerf everything too the ground, then it won't be as cool because you have a dead community with pre BB conditions)

@Alloy: Trust me, it's noticeable at Magnus when he goes into his floating state.

@Takebacker: That's what Four Seasons is for! The DoT, maybe.
