Red Data Girl episode 9: I was considering dropping this show, due to how slow it moves. plus it was neither exciting or funny. This episode kind of renewed my hope a little bit though. while not a lot happened, the twist at the end had a very "Madoka Magica/Ultimecia from FFVIII" feel to it... Though I was quite confused about what exactly she meant, it could have been explained in easier terms. glad the plot is finally going somewhere after all this build up
The Himegami is still a peach though, no matter what her motives.
I'm a little sad about things that were spoiled for me, but holy pomegranate was it satisfying anyway. I'm kind of glad I'll be disappearing and have to marathon this.
romcom 8
I get the premise of their plan, but really, why the hell did a bunch of highschoolers and even a fucking teacher approve of scaring the pomegranate out of 5 little girls in order to make 4 more of them social outcasts for no reason? It marginally helped Rumi or whatever her name was, but now there are 4 other kids who AREN'T used to being social outcasts at all suddenly alone; seems like someone should put them on suicide watch, LOL. Surely there was a better plan; even her transferring to a different school would have been a better plan, damn.
Hentai Ouji To Warawanai Neko. Episode 7: this show gets better and better, I love it. the introduction of the cat god has led to some really interesting drama so far.
The show is well animated, with great music and voice actors, it has great characters, a good plot and it's really really funny. Definitely one of my favorites this season.
- The next scene is sure to be one of the best to reflect what this series is about.
- I'm eager to hear Armin's speach. It was cool in the manga but it could be ruined by his young kid voice and his sobbing in the anime.
- That's Levy for you. He shows up one second and the chapter is already better.
- Mikasa is so cute when she is or thinks of Eren.
I hope this anime ends in a big "to be continued". Because I will hate if they pull some sucky ending out of their asses only so it fits in the 24 episodes schedule.
Okay Attack on titan Episode 8. Not going to say anything other than I fucking called it.
Spoiler
When i mean called it, I mean i knew he wasn't dead. Like come on he's the main fucking character but to be completely transformed into a titan for the rest of the series would be rather dull wouldn't it? I'm keeping my theories outside of this thread though.
All in all I loved this episode, Mikasa's character is protayed beautifully and a sasha (aka potato girl) scene where she is actually not-hyper awww
Also did anyone else think eren was going to turn into edward elric?
Shingeki No Kyojin: So I went and read the manga a few episodes back, and i'm going to be honest: I thought it kinda sucked. It has a decent premise, but the way it's handled is pretty weird and hard to follow.
Spoiler
It's also incredibly bleak, with lots of possibly good moments which just end up leading to nothing. Like the characters will stop mid battle to have a 10 page long discussion on tactics and what they are going to do. the next page? the plan ending horribly within seconds. It would have more of an impact on the reader if it wasn't A: Wasting time and B: happens every pineappleing time.
The reveal about Annie was treated with a lot of mystery, and then the biggest mystery in the series (the colossal and armored titans) is solved by them literally coming out of nowhere and revealing themselves in a background conversation. Too many plot threads that just end abruptly or have incredibly disappointing "endings" to drag them out even longer
Yuyushiki 08: All that yuri-tsundere hnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggggggggggg. I'm loving everything about this show. Okaa-san-sensei is astoundingly charming. The atmosphere portrayed around her fits so perfectly. I love every gag. スマブロ大会!マリカー大会!
Aiura 06~08: THIS NEEDS A FULL SERIES SO I CAN HNNNNGGGGGGGG ALL OVER THESE CHARACTERS! I WANT SAKI TO LAZE AROUND IN MY BED. Character designs are too cute. The OP actually makes me feels, as I watch them pet the lonely crab ._.
Hataraku Maoi-sama! 09: I could sure go for some SFC right now. The way Rika fell for Ashiya there after that AMAZING story was perfect. I hope they play that part out some more. I'm quite anxious to see how he'll play off using his magic to attract a crowd like that.
DATE A LIVE 09: KURUMIIII NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I think this show does an fairly good job building up each target, but they also do a great job of making Tohka and Origami completely unlikeable. Yoshino was so quickly forgotten too. Was not expecting that twist at the end, I'm surprised I was surprised though. Other than the scenario's from which the girls need saving from, this show is pretty abysmal.
Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S 08: dat tension. Looking forward to the fight vs Mugino. They really showed a lot of strong feels this episode. I think Railgun does a really good job pulling empathy from the viewer, at least from me.
Photokano 07~09: After the Haruka arc, I was worried where we would go, as there was no time to rebuild a foundation like Amagami SS had. I'm a bit annoyed the way they did this, especially saying pomegranate like "endless possible paths taken etc" or whatever. Having brought the series to such a high point with Haruka's story, showing a very VERY dramatic story with a strong emotion-based connection, they downplay the rest of the series by saying BUT WHAT IF THAT NEVER HAPPENED. That being said, Mizuhashi Kaori as Sanehara Hikari was fantastic. If they had the time to build three or four episodes for her like Amagami, I think this one could have rivaled Haruka's with the drama, though the lack of the childhood friends tie hurts the overall scoring. Sadly, they had to brush past it using short explanations from her to describe her issues. I think the comedic approach from him to make her smile was an interesting touch, but at the same time, the overall dilemma she faced felt like it was overshadowed by him being a goof. Lovely ending on the rowboat taking pictures of each other though. Fantastic.
I wasn't a big fan of the Muroto Aki episode. That's all I'll say.
Saito Chiwa as Masaki Nonoka was amazing. I always love her voice, and every role I've seen her in she's done with such amazing effect. She voices in such wide ranges as well. I felt the directing? in this episode made it feel weaker. The overall scenario was great; it fit the spunky sporty Nonoka perfectly with the Love Challenge!, but there were a few scenes where the direction or writing felt out of place. I'm confused why he put his shaved ice on the bench before tossing it too. Didn't seem to do anything? dat handbraunderbrabra. The final confession scene... She could have been happier, don't know why they went for such a sad tone in her voice. NO KISS?!?!?!? Her character was splendidly well done though, and she always felt "on" in her scenes. The animation was quite great in this episode too, and the focus on expressions brings out the camera theme well, in particular the photo of her throwing in her uniform. As for the ED, I think she stayed too in-character for it? It's an okay song to begin with I guess. Feels like really watered down instrumentals or something.
Shingeki no Kyojin 09: Oh God. I think we're barely faster than 1ch per episode, but only because some content such as the training was from later chapters. It feels so slooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Does anyone else feel this? Every scene is drawn out for such a tense atmosphere, and I can't stand it knowing what happens next ._. Also, Petra <3
Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru 08~09:
Flonne Wrote:romcom 8
I get the premise of their plan, but really, why the hell did a bunch of highschoolers and even a pineappleing teacher approve of scaring the pomegranate out of 5 little girls in order to make 4 more of them social outcasts for no reason? It marginally helped Rumi or whatever her name was, but now there are 4 other kids who AREN'T used to being social outcasts at all suddenly alone; seems like someone should put them on suicide watch, LOL. Surely there was a better plan; even her transferring to a different school would have been a better plan, damn.
The overall plan was to scare those kids pomegranateless into abandoning each other, making them realise they're not really friends. As such, they wouldn't hang around each other, and they wouldn't gangbully Rumi. After scaring them, Hachiman was going to go "lolgotcha, mad?" and likely lecture them about how unfair the world is, gloomdoom, etc. I'd think they wouldn't be social outcasts, but just either not associate with each other, and at the least re-evaluate how they treat friends (i.e. not throw someone under the bus) so something like that wouldn't happen again. I doubt the teacher knew this particular plan, as she was fairly surprised and relieved at the result, which was Rumi choosing to save them from what seemed to be a dangerous situation. Now they'll likely leave her alone since she saved them, and possibly make up with her. I didn't particularly like the plan either though. They should have explained the scenario more.
This latest episode, I enjoyed the strong denial that Hachiman shows about love, and his hate towards having expectations, especially how it comes full circle in the very end, with the episode title appearing. The atmosphere settled quite nicely there.
The OP and ED for this is very nice; however, Touyama Nao is either not the best singer, or too in-character for the song. The Yui Ballade version is quite nice though, and has a good instrumental track.
Suisei no Gargantia 09: I'm curious how they'll play this up now, with four episodes left. I think this story gets hurt from Shinsekai Yori airing last season, taking a blow to its "originality", though the design was quite staggeringly different. I was actually expecting something more tame, along the lines of Hideauze being some significant contributing factor towards the ecosystem, such as the Light Bugs, and if they die, then no one's boats will move anymore. Maybe there's still room for something like that as well.
Kotonoha no Niwa: Makoto Shinkai never disappoints. I don't think I've ever seen such amazing animation quality either. Amazing work yet again CoMix Wave. I can't fathom what their next big project will produce. A bit more closure would have been good, but that's what your imagination is for.
