If next week's Cybermen are defeated by emotions again, I am so done with them.

They'll be defeated by childish innocence and imagination.

“Brave heart Clara”

Loved the references to Tegan. This week's episode was great, and I really think Madame Vastra, Jenny, and Strax should get a spinoff series.

Apparently that was the plan, but the idea was scrapped Sad

A rather forgettable episode really.

So yeah, wasn't a big fan of this one. It had it's moments, but seriously.

Anyway:
short minisode which acts as a prequel to the finale:

The trailers for the next episode have COMPLETELY spoiled Clara's identity for me. It's still a really cool twist, but I was surprised they built it up this much just to spoil it in the trailer.

 Who is Clara? SPOILERS

It could be way worse. AMC managed to spoil the death of a character, from The Walking Dead, at least a month before the episode finally aired.

Finally saw the episode, and I thought it was okay. The Cyber-Doctor seemed a bit too emotional for a Cyberman. I actually kinda like the new Cyberman design, though they're not as creepy as the original Cybermen, who still had human hands. *shudder* And I didn't hear a single Cyberman yell "DELETE!" so that made me happy. Just finished "Nightmare in Silver", thoroughly enjoyed it.

I loved the exchange between Matt Smith and himself, and the little mentions ("Fantastic" in a Northern accent, and "Allons-y!") were great.

I knew I wouldn't like the kids from the end of "The Crimson Horror", and I wish I would be proven wrong. Nope. If the Doctor left the Cyber implant on Angie/we never see her again, I would be completely fine. Artie was okay.

Porridge's character was lovely. Didn't see the whole "Emperor" thing coming.

Also,

You have no idea how glad I am that it ended with an implosion instead.

Was anyone else expecting the Doctor to let Artie play chess against the Cyber Planner?
It seemed like it was set up that way to trick us, since his earlier comment about being in the chess club

Artie didn't have much to do in this episode, so it really didn't surprise me. All the character development went towards Angie, while Artie was just...there. By the time the Doctor started playing chess, I had completely forgotten Artie was in the chess club... :/

EDIT: And when I mentioned your comment to a friend, Razmos, he responded with "Who's Artie?" Haha

Yeah, Artie was a bit of a non-character, but better than another annoying bint like Angie.

Pretty decent episode overall. I liked it, but it didn't really stand out, as particularly good or bad.

EDIT: Also, the character of Porridge is ridiculous. Seriously, he runs away, fine, sure, but he doesn't go on a jaunt of the galaxy, he becomes a "ride" operator at a closed amusement park? Seriously?

Just a warning: The final episode has been leaked in America due to the blu-rays for series 7b being leaked early.

be careful of spoilers.

I'm planning on staying away from any Doctor Who-related forum/subreddit for the next week.
