Fairy Tail Thread (Spoilers)

This is basically a fate of the world type battle against dragons. You know, the things that have been pretty much hyped to hell throughout the series. The title focus of the chapter was on the Jade dragon and you know what Mashima gives him? Magic that removes clothes.

And here I was thinking that he'd have the badass magic to turn the whole town into metal or Jade. I knew Wendy couldnt just battle a dragon and bath in its blood but...

At the very least Mashima could have put all the pretty mages against him, Erza, Kagura, Ultear, Meredy, Sherry, etc...

I liked the interaction between Lucy and Natsu, if only for the fanservice. I'm more of a NaLi person. I really wished that Mirajane hadn't used Sitri against the Garou Knights because the continual lack of anything impressive from Sitri is getting on my nerves. If she had only unleashed Sitri, her most powerful Satan Soul known to Erza, in response to a large-scale event like the rise of the 7 dragons, her ineffective kick this chapter wouldn't have bothered me as much.

I hope this is explained by something like Mirajane being unable to Take Over into Sitri before her 3-month training, and that she had always 'spammed' it before she lost her powers. This would also further justify her poor performance against Azuma, because there was no way she would have gotten that tired from fighting Elfman and Evergreen (though mental stress and the time constraint/bom did contribute a lot to her loss), in that her base Satan Soul form just wasn't that powerful to begin with. She only defeated Freed with it, after all.

Now I'm interested in seeing if any more of the other dragons will join the side of the slayers. Lol'ed at Natsu calling the dragon uncle, only he would think of such things in the heat of battle.

Other than everyone winning through the strength of nakama power, Mashima is nowhere predictable. This arc is the best example, it kept us lost until the dragon's battle started.

However, I think he ruined Future Rogue's character. The argument that the Future had been turned to a nightmare by Acnologia and that he came seeking for the power of dragons to defeat him was way more appealing than maniac Rogue being like "and now I will cover the world in shadows and suffering". Unless there's something hidden though, like someone controlling him or something corrupting him.

Ugh. The jumps in logic on how timetravel works in fairy tail are starting to get on my nerves. Killing rogue now would do nothing. He isn't the same rogue as the one killing everyone. =_=

It's likely the shadow will interfere if present rogue were to approach death though. The shadow might be the way for present rogue to not be able to die.

I'm enjoying the pace though.

The manga is trying to get unpredictable again I see. I get the feel that Ultear is actually the trigger that pushes present Rogue to the bad side, maybe she kills him and the shadow takes over the body. That'd actually fit perfectly in the F. Rogue timeline. In any case I hope something stops it, like Lucy and her future self's diary, having present Rogue become a villain would be awfull.

I like this chapter's pace alot better than the previous 2.

Obviously they will end up using the gate to go back in time and change the past, preventing grey from dying.

Nah I'm pretty sure Ultear will sacrifice herself, with all this emo bull sh`it.
