Actually it doesn't. It's pronounced sort of like "mah tonne".
Come to think of it, though, "Satan" in Hebrew is pronounced the same way...

ברוך הבא, מתן!

No.
Hebrew doesn't even have a J sound.
Joshua is the English form of Yehoshua יהושע
Jesus' Hebrew name is Yeshua ישוע

SaptaZapta Good to know. Rather should have said it is spelled similarly. If you go by Americanized pronunciation though, it does sound the same. Hail Matan!

Teigri It seems you love to -1 my posts for no reason other than just to nit-pick or have some sort of bitterness with me for some odd reason. Tongue

I enjoy language facts like this. :3 I also personally pronounced Matan as Mah-tan.

(I hope we didn't scare him off.)

MariaColetteRolleyes you didnt scare me off.
everyone, thank you very much for the hot welcomingChin
also, yeah, you pronounce it Mah tan, and the letter j is wrriten as ג', when g is written as ג, and there are a few other letters/sounds which are wrriten with a ('), such as ch (ex: chip) and x (sounds the same like chinese, like XenonRolleyes).
SaptaZapta תודה רבה!Biggrin
