Pokémon X and Pokémon Y

I'm surprised it took them this long to make a Panda Pokemon. People seem to dislike the lizard the most, but I personally hate the robin the most. Do we really need another Normal/Flying type?

I was thinking the same thing. It's classified as the "Generator" or "Generation" pokemon as well. Really looking forward to seeing it's evolution.



Also guys, apparently you can only ride pokemon in the main town. I'm guessing it's more of an inter-city transportation thing, it's called the "riding" pokemon because it's used as transportation in the city. I don't think it's a HM, and I don't think any other pokemon can do it.

Willing to bet they'll use a Chocobo Ranch kindof system where you can keep one outside of your team but still within easy access.

Spinda was actually a panda Pokemon (thus the spots and the "nda" part of its name); just a really bad attempt at one. This one is so much better.

Also I want the robin to be fire/flying but I have a feeling it's just going to be another generic normal/flying. Just like how Staraptor learned close combat and could have been cool as a fighting/flying but just stayed normal.

One Pokemon that I would dream to catch: Fire/Ice type. Legendary, of course. Bet it won't come out for a very very long time.

Fire/Ice would be terrible typing. That would resist what, 1/2Bug,1/2Grass and 1/4 to ice. With 4x weakness to rock and 2x to water, fighting and ground. Ughhh

I'm also going to have a ton of trouble choosing a character because I'm a sucker for guys with longer than usual hair.

Since the lizard "uses solar rays to generate electricity," what if it evolves into a frilled neck lizard that uses the frills to absorb sun rays?

Then this morning, CoroCoro finally gave us the first major X and Y details since the games were first announced. Among those details was one tiny little tidbit that the source had first told me about in February – that there would be a new Electric move that drains its opponent’s HP. This was the only attack that the person had told me about in February, and yet it is such a specific detail to make up. For that information to be verified three months later seems to indicate that the source is the real deal (unless they are just really good at guessing).

• Fairy will be a new type. It is weak to Poison and Steel, immune to Dragon, and super effective against Dragon, Dark, and Fighting-type Pokemon.
• Sylveon is Fairy-type. Some older Pokemon will be reclassified to Fairy, such as Mawile (Steel/Fairy).
• Mewtwo has two new formes, not just one. Both are activated via items.
• The professor’s English name is Patrice.
• The Starter final evolutions are, as many people predicted, Fire/Psychic, Grass/Fighting, and Water/Dark.
• The first Gym is Bug, the second is Fairy, and the fourth is Fighting.
• A few attacks will be dual-typed.
• There will be a new type of battling style that Flying-type Pokemon and Pokemon with Levitate can participate in.
• You will be able to see a Pokemon’s EVs at a certain in-game facility. You will be able to boost the EVs through mini-games. It will take about two hours to get one stat to max EVs.

Only one of those rumors that bothers me is the "some attacks are Dual-Typed". It seems... unnecessary.

Also I would find it absolutely hilarious if the Fairy type was released this generation, and instantly got a gym while Dark STILL hasn't had a gym yet.

Is a new type confirmed? Well...maybe. During the Eevee-Akiyama friends segment of Pokémon Smash earlier today, it was heavily implied that Sylveon is strong against Ice types, and weak against Poison types. If this is true, and not just the Pokémon Smash team horsing around, then this is an outright confirmation that Sylveon is a brand new type.

For those who haven't seen the segment, it had the team (cosplaying as Eeveelutions) trying to figure out Sylveon's type. First, Shoko (playing Sylveon) pulled out some Nunchucks....but then got shoved inside a drum by a big burly guy, implying Sylveon is not a Fighting type, and in fact is probably weak to them. Next, she broke a block of ice. Akiyama and the others suggested that she may be a Steel type as a result of these two results, and decided to test the idea. The method they came up with? Seeing if she resisted Poison by having her put her head in a box and expose her to some really bad smelling items. That...didn't work out so well for Shoko. Not clear if that was meant to imply Poison was super effective, or that it was just effective, but at least it was clear that Sylveon lacked the Poisin immunity of Steel.
(Yes, crazy stuff like this is typical of Smash)

One more thing to consider. If this is true, it contradicts the "Fairy-type" rumours which have been going around recently. While those did suggest a Poison weakness, they said nothing about Ice at all, and suggested that Sylveon was actually strong against Fighting.

So...new type looking incredibly likely. Your thoughts?
