I love seafood. I eat it absolutely every day. So I thought, "Why don't I go to a sushi bar? I've never been. It should be worth it."

So I went. And it was a comedy of errors.

I went to the first sushi bar. They were having happy hour. Buy one get one free on any similar colored plates. However, the server forgot about me after I gave my drink order. So I walked out. Never returning there.

Then I found another sushi bar just driving around. Went in there and was greeted and seated. I had no idea what any of the japanese meant, so I was pretty lost. I ended up getting some sashami salad and ika. But even ordering that was comical.

ME: I'd like squid sushi.
HER: Oh, ika! How many pieces?
ME: Just one... but I want seaweed instead of rice.
HER: You want seaweed with... ika? Seaweed with ika?!
ME: Yes, seaweed with ika.
HER: Okay... I guess.

As if there was something wrong with choosing something other than rice!

I was finally served the sashami dish. The next comedy of error was with the chopsticks. I took the chopsticks out of the packaging and tried to use it... but they were stuck together at the top. I tried to detach it but couldn't.

These... damn... things... wtp why are they so stuck together?

Eventually I got them apart, but I had to split them veritically and not horizontally. I damn near about broke the things in half.

I finished the sashami plate (delicious, btw) and then got to work on the ika.

This ika is really good. But what's this green dollop on the corner of the plate? Is that wasabi? No, it can't be wasabi. That's usually a liquid, right? Let me try the ika with this green thing. It must be something to make the ika taste better. Hmmm, it's pretty firm and hard to get on... there we go. It's all on now. Okay, now let's see how this tastes. Hmm... pretty good. Never thought I'd like squid. Oh god. Oh f'uck. I immediately regret this decision. WATER. MAKE IT STOP. MAKE IT STOP. I NEED WATER. JESUS CHRIST I TAKE IT ALL BACK.

Oh, my sister withdrew early from classes again this semester, continuing to lie to my parents until now again, only this time they apparently will not be reimbursed for tuition. So she basically flushed tens of thousands of dollars down the drain. Excellent.

Now my mother can't even stand to be in the same room as her, and it's my sister's birthday next Tuesday and Mother's Day on Monday, so there go the plans they all had. Oh, and having my sister come up with them for my graduation in just over a week.

Gah. Thankfully she's officially dropped out so this charade is over, but the dysfunction will still take time to heal, or at least reconcile. In the meantime, I'm one week from finishing classwork and have two major graded elements tomorrow and Friday, so back to work!

Feeling better since yesterday, but the coughing became really bad. My chest is starting to hurt a bit.
Managed to draw some drawing, had to skip classes due to sickness, and am now hunting shiny Dratini again. I was hoping to run into a random encounter shiny while hatching Dratini, but that hasn't happened yet.

Changed my signature to just some clickable boxes and will now be off to continue watching Nova. For science.

1) Chopsticks are usually stuck together at the top like that xD.

2) That was totally wasabi if you haven't guessed xD.

Four months ago I picked up a dying kitten from a dump and took care of him.

He died today of a stoppage and I could not do anything. Was way more painful than I thought it could be.

 His first nap at home.

You did well. Even though he died and you were unable to prevent his death, take comfort in the knowledge that he lived a very good life while he was with you and that could never have happened if you had not saved him that day and opened your heart to a little kitten that might not have even survived a day.

Come Saturday morning I'll be headed out for Tennessee, and then Virginia for the summer to grow myself as a friend, a future father, and as a person.

It's going to be an awesome experience, and I can't wait to see how much I'll have learned come August!
