What's the assessment if you noticeably exceed 80 last hits by 10 minutes? Say if you got 100 last hits, or even 90? Move to a worse last hitting hero like Zeus or the aforementioned Techies?

at 10 minutes excluding the 10 minute creepwave exactly 80 creeps have spawned from both sides, minus the catapults. With those it's 81 on both sides.
So good luck exceeding it.
Edit: Or well, i guess with the 10 minute creepwave it's 21 waves, then i guess it's minus the 10 minute creepwave.

Best you could be is 82/82; kill and deny on each tower.
But yeah Shadow Fiend has a good animation but piss-poor damage at level 1.
Wait wow, Techies have instant cast time on all their skills? And 700 attack range? seems like my new OMG mode base hero.

It's drama time!
LGD.cn gets their direct invite to TI3 revoked; switches spot with TongFu (goes to eastern qualifiers). Roster issues with LongDD and DD, fun stuff like that.
Holy mother of Icefrog, Slark just got picked. And he stomped pretty hard.

To be fair, a lot of other heroes could've been in that slark's spot and done just as well if not better. I'd like to see slark become a situational pick, but i'll have to see more untill i am convinced, he has some flaws.
Also the LGD thing was expected, valve stated that teams shouldn't change rosters post getting an invite. Also tongfu has so much star-power and potential, quite clear why they were chosen. And LGD should stomp through the qualis.
Also, http://www.twitch.tv/dendi dendi 24/7 streaming pudge. 2 fun.

Goddammit I love that there's a decent rapier carrier that gets played frequently. Gyrocopter, just because he has the potential to go rapier, just makes games so much more interesting.

Malthe Wrote:Last-hit training in doto has always been done by going into a game on your own entirely and then going mid and reaching 80 last hits at the 10 minute mark. (Including the creepwave that spawns at the 10 minute mark)
That tradition started out with SF and was called the SF challenge.
You basically bought zero items, did not use your skill points and then just go mid and get every single last hit. Denies are a plus.
What the pineapple are you doing with your life mode: Same challenge, but with techies(Horrible attack animation and starting damage of 29-31)
It obviously doesn't teach you how to handle the lane with an enemy in it, but it's good practice for getting an animation and the timing down.
Noticing creep damage now, especially ranged and catapults. It's insane how hard they hit you at first levels with no items/skills/stats. Denying ranged creep without the next wave already there takes a lot of your health. I'm gonna do 5 tries with each hero, hopefully I'll get a bit better. First try with Alchemist 35/13 :S, I know I'll do better with ranged heroes, I do so in pubs, because I also noticed that sometimes melee hero's positioning makes it harder. Most of the ones I missed in Alchemist were because even if I clicked at the right time he'd have to walk around some creeps and he'd hit the dead creep.
EDIT: Some heroes share animation/attack speed of other heroes? Might do only 3 tries per hero because 5 might be too time consuming.

In my opinion, don't do 3-5 times per hero. There's a general timing to memorize, but no need to perfect like a madmen. What I find a bit helpful is using "S" to stop attacking so I'm constantly backswinging and nearly attacking the creep but I ultimately don't. One way this helps is making sure you're not attacking too early, and the second is it can help you get a sense of the attack backswing animation speed.
There's attack animation: http://www.dota2wiki.com/wiki/Attack_animation
Just sort through attack backswing, and missile speed. See which ones have similar attack animations and/or missile speeds, then practice a handful of them.

Yeah, if you wanted to go to TI3 and didn't get a ticket already, that sucks.
The Compendium is good enough for me though. I'm actually going to be able to watch most if not all of TI3 and I'm super excited by that. Seems like it starts around 9 AM EDT each day which is perfect for me since I'm going to be having early morning soccer all through August. Also the Compendium stuff is pretty cool. Smeevils for everyone!

It's a shame people are more into LoL than Dota 2
Friends keep asking me to join them in LoL but I don't want to suck in two different games... and even if it's easier I don't want to learn stuff all over again.
Why can't they just come play Dota 2 with me

A lot of people i know are intimated because of the amount of stuff to learn and it's hard to get into without help from a friend.
LoL is just overall a much easier game to approach for most people.
And a lot of people dislike that dota still requires invites, even if they're easy as pineapple to get most people don't want to bother with it, once it no longer requires invites the amount of players will probably spike like crazy.

LoL is nice as long as you're playing with friends. As of now, LoL solo queues have been rather painful for me to play. At least in DoTA I can random queue and still have games where my team doesn't suck so long as they understand English.

I thought I wouldn't have that problem because I can talk Spanish and English, French too but I've yet to see french players. Except I'm getting teams were 2 speak Spanish and 2 English and they won't listen to each other or my translations. It's worse when they all have mics and one of them will just yell over everyone else, sometimes leading awful ganks/pushes...that half the team doesn't even understand.

If anyone really have problems getting invites just pm me, got 17 in my inventory and they will probably give out even more later on after TI3.

Question for you guys. How do you feel about the hero Chaos Knight? The few games I played him, it's amazing to be able to stun and bring a lone enemy close to me. His ult is also so amazing to use at levels 11+. I do understand he lacks game changing abilities, but that's sort of why you have your team with you to back you up.
Sidenote, I can't decide who to play more: Earthshaker or Sand King. Both kind of have similar themes: initiate and mass AoE down the enemy team. Difference being SK has 2 ways to escape, while Earthshaker is more able to stunlock and his ult doesn't require time to finish.

Personally, I prefer Sand Kind. Earthshaker's stun always blocks someone from attacking/escaping... Or maybe it doesn't happen in that much in higher level games but it's something that bothers me greatly. SK's escape abilities are also fun.
EDIT: I just noticed I played my 100th game a couple hours ago!

CK is stronk and a great mid-game carry. Requires a good support though in the laning phase.
Also earth shaker is probably one of my all-time favourite heroes, ever.
Problem is that i hate supporting randoms in pubs, if i had a good stack of friends to play with that i knew i could rely on to carry me lategame after i supported them, i'd play him a lot more. And nobody lets me go mid with him if i random him
There is literally nothing more satisfying that getting blink dagger on earthshaker.
"Blink dagger, Now it's on!"

IGN: I don't play MS
I prefer Sand King. I hate Earthshaker's abysmal cast time. Burrowstrike isn't as powerful as Fissure, but it is great for keeping you alive. Same with the ability to disjoint spells and juke with Sandstorm (I love walking uphill, hitting Sandstorm, and immediately running in the opposite direction). Having an easier time staying alive through a team fight is always a big deal.
