Do you expect a Masteria expansion?

It hasn't done so well on EMS, but then again, EMS doesn't have nearly as many old, nostalgic farts as we do. Tongue

*puppy dog eyes* Please?!

Patt; and I even made a Southperry social group for Supreme if we do get it. Big Grin

Yeah, Mazz and I had big plans for playing there if/when it came out. Hopefully it picks up in EMS!

KMS Masteria is not done yet. There is more to come. You'll see it soon.

You can roll it in glitter though and hope that nobody notices the smell.

I think a Supreme style server could do well in GMS. With a little bit of tweaking. The EMS one was a bit flawed in its execution in my opinion. Hell even somehow connecting it into the Masteria storyline would be cool.

But I pretty much echo what everyone else said Masteria had interesting maps/mobs and a story that you wanted to do the quests for so you could learn more. It was a fun and exciting place to explore, something that's missing from most maps these days. KMS map design is basically left to right flat maps. The phantom forest was something really interesting and different. It was fun trying to explore it with friends and work out the right paths. Then a bigfoot would spawn and all hell would break loose, good times. That's another thing i miss now that sense of danger when exploring. The old Crismonwood actually felt like you were climbing the mountain to the keep at the top since the maps had a vertical structure. Now they are just flat which is boring and doesn’t make sense anyway. Then you also had the cool maps like the wolf spider one that was shaped like a spider. Not the greatest design for playing on but still very interesting.

The thing that annoyed me most about the last Masteria update was that more content was actually taken away than added. It seemed like rather than taking the time to try and update and balance it post big bang the easy option was taken instead and it was just removed.

Alloy Wrote:The haunted mansion is awesome, and it fits even outside halloween... With the old phantom forest. All maze like maps are grouped in one place that fits. The monsters inside may be a different thing. There's a lot of wasted potential in there, with monsters of such low level, but make it a bit better with higer level monsters, recovering the old storyline, a "final area" like the old chimney thing, but with monsters and a linear progression, until you reach a boss, new to the storyline, as a climax, and you got yourself a unique dungeon.

EDIT: And also, Combattente; got this quite right. It's just too much lost, and easily recoverable.

As for storyline, it can be as easy as "We rebuilt it, and aliens are gone... But something is suspicious".

Then add the time machine to check out the future.

BAM. DESTRYED FUTURE NLC. And since aliens were here in the present before, Nebulites make sense to drop and all.

To me, Haunted Mansion doesn't fit at all. At first, I thought it was a theme dungeon where you can explore for the Halloween event, but it turns out I was wrong. That is why I stopped going to Masteria after a month ago and only go there on my side character/mule to see if there are changes. I know some people will disagree, but I have my points.

Adding on to what some people have already said, Big Bang has been the major culprit in my eyes. The nerfs to the bosses - namely Bigfoots and to a lesser extent Headless Horsemen, have made Masteria less attractive alternative.

I still miss the days where we needed to navigate through the twisted and forgotten paths ot reach Windraiders, and even then, needed to be lucky to avoid being stomped by bigfoot.

With the lack of threats, and simplified map layout, Masteria just isn't the same.

But then again, what I'm talking about also applies to the rest of maple..

I'm a mapler still missing the 6k guns from Anego and her 18k slaps

I mean, big bang made levelling easier for grinders, but killed all the experience for others. The only "decent" boss left was Castellan, although that was nerfed down from its former 2xk damage it dealt? but even then, that was destroyed with the new Kaede Castle update.

Seriously, sure, bosses like Magnus and such are new and challenging, but, it really isn't the boss mechanics of previous maple.

Gone are the days of HP washing
Gone are the days of BMs needing puppet
Gone are the days that HB was necessary for most bosses

Yeah, feeling nostalgic, i miss old maple, at least in the boss department. I'd love to see a new previously BF/Toad/Anego-like bosses introduced to be challenging enough for the current stage of maple

So, Girasol, any chance we're getting old Masteria back? Sad

Watch this be just a rearrangement of masteria by bringing back the old maps but keeping the alien maps somewhere... oh and maybe visitor mobs to fill it up.

Wait until you've seen something, it's really disappointing to see people be like "yay i love you Girasol, let's go on board the hype train" after the last update to Masteria was sooooo bad.

I should change that to our tagline; Southperry - More old, nostalgic farts per capita than any other Maple fansite.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

I like to think of Southperry as a maple retirement home.

We start our lives alone, find a fansite full of chaos and drama, and then settle down on Southperry where we post cat gifs and talk about the old days

Add a new high-level quest chain to Masteria that culminates in a crusade to destroy Naricain (a second CWKPQ of sorts; the first one with the Twisted Masters can stay but needs to be made more difficult). Upon his defeat, Naricain tears open a portal to another dimension - one swirling with concentrated evil energies - and ultimately escapes.

The Supreme-style server would be this other dimension. Think of the possibilities! A plotline completely original to GMS revolving around hunting down Naricain in the other dimension!

Eos... Literally changed that to our tagline. wow.

Now watch as GoogleAds threatens to cancel our contract unless we remove the offensive word "farts" from our tagline.

Or the Surpreme world could be Versal with a few minor adjustments.

Is Versal supposed to be a "copy" of maple world?

i.e. parallel universe or whatever.

It's a negative of it.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

So it's everything that the maple world isn't then.

So it's mostly gloomy, and the monsters are tough?

Hmm...
