Hopefully Nexon catches this quick.
I don't play other MMOs or have had any previous experience with them. Is this normal that such game breaking hacks occur so frequently?

I bet the big decision on the rollback decision is all the cubing that occurred over the weekend. As many others have said, EXP can be restored via more 2X, and drops can probably be gained equally though the same 2X, even more if they give extra time.

What I suggest, to prevent the dollar players' uproar (the only important uproar), is to rollback to before even the Australian Miracle Time occurred. Follow that up with whatever suitable amount of 2X Nexon finds acceptable for non-cubers and people affected by EXP loss. The most important part of this solution is a Miracle Time rescheduling for the following weekend, with an even greater chance of rank upgrading, let's say 3X instead of 2X.

This doesn't even have to be implemented, simply stating "We are compensating last week's Miracle Time but increasing, even more, the rate at which item potentials rank up, from 2X to 3X" should be good enough. Of course, actually implementing it in the game would be real nice, rather than just saying it, but there's no way the user would really know, based on the ~50 I read someone needed to get to Legendary.

I hope this gets resolved as gracefully as possible.
If there must be a rollback for it to be fixed the best, then I'll get over the exp I lost.
This exploit is just ridiculous.

When I first started playing this game around late 2006, I was oblivious at what was happening around me for a few months till it was pointed out to me that these players are cheating. That mobs aren't suppose to spin in circles a few times and get sucked into a single area and characters aren't suppose to fly.

I honestly never played a game that has as much cheating as Maple Story does. It is ridiculously bad, there was some cheating in other games but not to the extent this game has.

At the same time I never played a game that is as expensive as Maple is, but that's a different story.

A friend of mine got a 21% all stats on his tyrant pirate , another 24% dex on his earring. I on the other hand went from 70-121 on my demon slayer x-x
I would hate to lose all my work and i know my friends would be pissed too :/. A couple of alliance / guild mates sold nx codes ;/. Will see after the server check :l

Anyome remember the Merchant gold glitch in Dream of Mirror Online?

If you don't, here's how it went:

1. Make character
2. Make Fighter
3. Get No-Guard
4. Job change to Fencer
5. Get Max-Guard
6. Job change to Merchant
7. Get Liquidation
8. Cast all 3 spells, go die. You now have money equal to your health.

Sure, it wasn't a hack at first, but when exploited by god mode, it ruined the economy. The glitch was opened up 4 times in DoMO's lifespan, and gold became worthless quickly.

Too bad DoMO is gone now.

But yeah, hacking ruins a LOT of MMOs.

I feel so safe by not playing. I'm glad I haven't been playing for a while @_@.

I feel like Nexon needs to work on weekends, especially Sunday. A lot of exploits and hacks that I have ever seen has always happened on the weekend.

So, we all wait until somebody with power chooses to check their e-mail... It's just a game, right? What's the worst that could happen?

I can imagine Maryse standing alone in the hallway, hand on the breaker, shaking from the attempt to build up resolves... Aaaaanndddd nothing happens.

Or, standing alone in a hallway with their back against the door while something is banging and trying to get in bashing itself against the door and they're just all like "Ummm, guys? Guys? GUUUUUYS? ANYONE!?!?"

Sorry to say that I don't care at all.

Oh god, this. Yeah, it truly wasn't a hack at first. I'm sure a lot of people used it.
..And then someone had to go and pull a fast one. Sigh.

I really do hope things get resolved soon. I only logged on for Hot Time once, and have been off Maple since.
QuQ;. Why must this happen?

You do realize this has repercussions outside of you avoiding the free market right?

Well by him/her not caring at all has removed any right for that player to ever get mad for any major exploits, hacking activity (including hacked accounts) as she openly accepts the consequences in the in-game economy and all of those things I mentioned contribute to it.

They happen all the time, but Maple Story has a higher concentration of them because the game is too damn old, and hackers know the ancient coding inside and out.

Whelp, today's the 16th. Prepare thy anus.
