Tele: Been around for ages
Vac: " "
Invincible: " "

Seriously, no matter how hard you try, you can't get rid of them.

If Nexon actually bothered to employ GM's we wouldnt have this problem.

I could single handedly do more in one day to clean up Maple than Nexon has in the past 2 years. I guarantee.

If Nexon actually got active GMs, removed all limits on reporting users, and set up a !cheaters system like Odin... Pfft, too much work for them.

If we had IP ban, this wouldn't be happening.

Then again, I don't think Nexon as a company trusts there employees enough.

They would make alot of mistakes.

IP banning people is pointless, especially because many major ISPs shuffle around IP addresses every week(Comcast for example). Also, it is too easily bypassed.

Ways off the top of my head to bypass an IP ban.

1. Call up your isp and request an IP change.
2. Use a proxy.
3. ?????
4. Profit?

IP ban is pointless

Even if you ban hackers, they just come back and people complain about you not doing your job, even though you did. So Nexon instead of wasting their time banning hackers and watching them come back, they prevent the hacking in the first place, or at least try. It's impossible really as hackers just create new ones, Nexon creates better prevention, and cycle repeats.

Ok there have been Drks going around with some hack that cannot be seen. They don't attack but still manage to kill a monster. It happened today to two buddies. One was hunting anego and the other hunting BFs.

In Germany, for example, our ISPs give us new IP Addresses everytime we connect to the internet.

Disconnect --> Reconnect --> New IP Address.

I saw this at bigfoot/HH as well - I left the map for 2 minutes to go party my bishop friend, came back, and BF had gone from 75% hp to 15%. The DrK was just standing there, then suddenly left. No toe dropped. This may be a form of summon hack abuse, although, for the life of me, I can't figure out how Beholder would be useful to a hacker...maybe replace its skill info with that of one of hawk/eagle or something, idk...

It's a hack that is done by editing the .wz files. They edit the delay time of the skills so it attacks really fast. We can't see their damage because it's too fast or something.

even a private WOW server that i used to play have more active gms than maple....

Yes, the easiest way to counter all this hacking would be to hac=ve active gm's running around. Or at least I hope that might do the trick.

I think it would be better/cheaper/more efficient if they made 1 person reprogram the client and wipe them all out.

That won't help unless you check hashcode for the .wz-files in the client.

If this is a wz-hack/repack thing, that is.

Its to easy to name over 30 active GMS from a small private server.
But, adding all the GMs up from a real server, I get about only 15 active...

Three years and I've seen a few Smegas and one or two events. Not even a dozen banning notices. D:

If IP banning is so ineffective, why does Odin employ it? IP + MAC > hackers. It's a pain to change both. :>
