Like that would make much difference since most of the empress equips in the free market are from hackers anyway.

The definition of filler that most of us go after is a patch that adds nothing but corny events and nothing in terms of areas or such.

This anniversary patch is a filler if A) it takes place when we would normally excpect a patch, meaning a month from the last and a month to the next, give or take, and B) if it adds nothing but events that can't be said to contain something new and meaningful. An example of non meaningful events would be the myriad different coin shop events we have gotten these last 2 years, or those pesky kill 200 enemies around your level every day to get this scroll/chair/temporary headache.

If this patch is to be considered good or not have nothing to do with being labeled a filler though.

There's a simpler definition then that.

"Nothing worth logging in for", and as long as the may hot times are good, it won't be filler. There hasn't been an anni not worth logging in for since maybe the cake vs pie/pvp thing. At least...i totally didn't log in for that.

I like Anniversary patches, I always end up making a good amount of mesos from them...

Doubtful. Most equips (that aren't shoulders, capes, or some weapons) are near worthless at this point anyways.

I have got to agree with this. Disregarding how something as huge as Unlimited would definitely be around the corner as a summer update, this patch is still a nice event patch that reminds people of how far Maple has come and you even do quests for the NPCs and feel like you're actually doing something other than training X mule, beating boss Y or joining party Z since these quests tend to be slightly more personalized than the generic quests.

Ok sure, it was an opinion and some Maplers do not speak for the server as a whole but keeping things in stride is a good thing to learn and the most recent patch GMS got already did away with a lot of fairly pointless but still not filler patches anyway. GMS has nothing standing between it and Unlimited now so take a chill pill, make sure you're all set and enjoy this patch or just leave it and return when Unlimited's out; it's that simple!

But still, Nexon will not want this happening. That seems like a reasonable way to resolve botters taking advantage of the event instead of doing what MSEA does by cancelling the event. Sure, it ruins botters' quick and easy mesos method, but it also ruins the fun for the legit players. I want to get my hands on some Empress equipment myself.

If everyone (including botters) starts getting their hands on tons of Empress gear, then prices will deflate even further, so I don't really see what the problem is. If prices become even lower than they are now, then there is very little profit to be made for anyone trying to sell Empress gear. If Nexon didn't want Empress gear to deflate, then they should not have created an event like this.

I don't see why Nexon would need to make Empress equips trade locked when they aren't negatively affected by tons of Empress gear hitting the market. Doing this would only hurt the legitimate players while not doing much else.

To add on to this, if people had their free Empress equips they wouldn't need to buy it from botters anyway and helping players to feel appreciated is kind of the whole point of an anniversary celebration I should think.

I am sad to say that such a wise and common sense observation escapes the business plan of Asiasoft. No, seriously, let's look at these and say which is a good business choice if MapleSEA wasn't made up of some very damned rich idiots:

Royal coupons: Nothing has been updated since Justice, half the styles are ugly, and that crap costs like 3-4 haircuts in real life!
Permanent clothing: No major updates for months, clothes are ugly for the most part and bloody expensive. I could get one article of clothing that lasts for 5-6 years buying just one of these.
Revolutionary/Enlightening/Golden/Whatever cubes: Cost a ton compared to SMCs; Golden cubes give you just one miracle cube shard. HAHAHAHAHA.
Additional potential scroll: A chance of gaining 2 potential lines. Right, I'll pass on that.
EXP box: A chance of getting a 3x EXP coupon that expires in one day; costs 10k cash. Gee, we'll really need that since you ONLY gain 50% EXP now if you hit a mob that's 20 levels lower!
Pam's Songs/Shielding Wards: You don't need a dollar comparison for this one; one of these will easily buy you a buffet meal at the top hotels so you could get 8 of these for a weapon and still fail to perfect it or you can have dinner with your family and create lovely memories.
Or get sick from eating too much, maybe.

Oh, and we still don't have pot locks but I've given up on improving my cane and card since they're likely overpriced anyway.

Max and his friends were able to distribute their unneeded Empress just fine, though. I don't think that's be a smart move on Nexon's part. Not business-wise, anyway.

I hope they come out of the boxes often enough for me to fuse them for ATT or M.ATT bonus potentials. Meheheheh
