The ring gives 2% and it's off base stats, like Justin said. If you're training in a party play area, you'd get

Without Ring:
100% Base EXP
010% Party EXP (I'm pretty sure you get 10% just for being a party and killing in the same map as a party member)
250% Party Bonus EXP
-----------------------------
360% Total EXP without Ring

With Ring:
100% Base EXP
002% Ring EXP
010% Party EXP
250% Party Bonus EXP
-----------------------------
362% Total EXP with Ring

The difference between the EXP is 362/360 which is ~1.0056 which is less than a 1% increase in EXP.

This basically means you'd get the same exp in 59 minutes and 41 seconds with the ring that you would get in an hour without the ring, so you save 19 seconds every hour. Every three hours you train, you save a minute, and you'd have to train 180 hours before the difference between having the ring and not having it is an hour. The time you save would become even less if you add in the Mercedes Link or even an EXP potion.

In a normal training area, you'd get 102% EXP instead of 100%, so the difference is a straight 1.02x multiplier, which means you'd get the same EXP in an hour without the ring that you would in 58 minutes and 50 seconds with the ring. You'd save 70 seconds per hour, and an hour every 51 hours of training.

I think the difference between having the ring and not having it is pretty small, the time you save is so minuscule, especially compared to the time you've already had to be training in order to get that savings.

Normal party bonus is 5% per party member, I believe. So for a 6-person party it's 30% (and 280% in a party-play area). Which only makes your point stronger.

Also, you forgot to mention that if one replaces the exp ring with a damage/crit ring, one might need fewer attacks - and therefore less time - to get the same exp.

But if you OHKO the target it makes pointless more damage.

The game doesn't allow 2 exp boosting items to be equipped at the same time AFAIK.

If you OHKO party-play targets...

I really wish we were getting unlimited instead of this tbh.

Na, you could equip both provided you did it in the correct order. It might have been patched out since then though. It must have been a year or two ago since I did it.

No thanks, I don't want the whole KMS/MSEA fiasco here. Hopefully, GMS learns from their mistakes.

It's just that this is a filler patch for the most part. And it's not like GMS isn't going to change up Unlimited anyway.

OHKOing stronghold mobs isn't even possible for any class other than buster at the moment anyway. At least, to my knowledge. They have too much HP.

Whose to say they will? Girasol confirmed that we aren't getting Additional Options, so it could be very much the same otherwise.
Although I'm pretty sure Nexon doesn't want GMS to lose players (and revenue) like KMS is having....who knows for sure?

Filler? Really you consider maple anniversary which happens every year to be a filler patch? Filler patches are patches like the red leaf one that included only 3 new quests. This is not a filler patch maple anniversary is a major patch imo

Then stop playing and come back when Unlimited hits. You won't be missed. Filler isn't worth doing, right?

People thought of Kanna and Hayato as filler patches, intentionally wasting time because Nexon was being cruel and not releasing Hyper Skills.

The same applies here, if you are waiting for unlimited all patches inbetween will feel like filler. in the case of Kanna/Hayato some people were looking forward too it more than Hyper Skills (like myself) so it definitely didn't feel like filler.

The anniversary patch is absolutely not filler in my eyes. And I'd rather have lots of filler patches with good events anyway, than to catch up with Unlimited too early and not get any decent updates for a long time.

At least it gives you something to look forward too. If you don't like this patch, don't play. it's that simple.

The definition of filler that most of us go after is a patch that adds nothing but corny events and nothing in terms of areas or such.

This anniversary patch is a filler if A) it takes place when we would normally excpect a patch, meaning a month from the last and a month to the next, give or take, and B) if it adds nothing but events that can't be said to contain something new and meaningful. An example of non meaningful events would be the myriad different coin shop events we have gotten these last 2 years, or those pesky kill 200 enemies around your level every day to get this scroll/chair/temporary headache.

If this patch is to be considered good or not have nothing to do with being labeled a filler though.

"it's filler because I don't like what's in it"

not like i haven't heard this before. x is filler because it isn't beneficial to ME!

it's what happens to everyone that counts, but i guess that's just not possible for some people

It looks like a filler, but considering the huge patch GMS got before and how Unlimited is most likely going to be the summer update I cannot help but disagree. Besides, even if this mostly has events the rewards are highly beneficial to all and would be a great start to Unlimited.

Also, this is an obligatory post to say "GMS gets everything MSEA needs!!!" Good luck to players maining the new jobs, the weapons alone will cost hundreds of SGD easily.
