Now Jho really won't stop stalking me whenever I try to chase the Rathalos, unless Los is in that one area. I'm trying to wait for both to move to different areas, but there are 9 minutes left in the quest. T_T
Okay gg, 1 minute left and I get fireballed to death. This is just... man. Q_Q Have to gather friends and give it another go, I guess. Last I heard, the rest of my friends are stuck at Brachydios, trying to get to HR4.
Dung Bombs are your best friend.
They force whatever monster you hit them with to eventually switch areas. It's not immediate, but within the next 5 or so attacks they'll decide to leave.

This probably belongs in Angry Dome, but it's Monster Hunter related...so...
I am absolutely so pissed off at randoms right now for two reasons.
1) Kelbi Bow spammers. It's so absolutely frustrating to know practically every intricate detail about Bow mechanics, yet see people spam first charges on monsters because "lolSlimeExplosionsOP". It's infuriating. The worst part is that, contrary to popular belief, third charge shooting with it would actually be more powerful. Slime Effect chances are significantly diminished on first charge shots(I literally watched two people spam shots on an exhausted Zinogre in a Pitfall trap and NOT ONCE did a Slime effect go off, AT ALL!), the actual amount they do is lower, AND to top it off their base damage is pathetic (It's like hitting an enemy with a red sharpness weapon). Yet all day today I've run into people who spam the pomegranate out of the Kelbi Bow like this and it drives me nuts. It pains me to see people using Bow ONLY because of some videos some JP players made before we even got the fu'cking game. I would rather go back to the FU days, where no one used Bows because they were considered too weak.
2) I made a room that was specifically for farming G Rank Regular Gigginox. The room specifically stated this. A Kelbi Bow spammer joins, does one quest, then goes and posts Baleful Gigginox. NO! That's not what the room was for. I made the room specifically for Regular Gigginox. I tell him this. His response is that he wants Baleful for a key quest. TOO BAD! This isn't a god damn key quests room, there's a hundred of those! Go there! Leave my god damn Regular Gigginox farming room alone, or just do Regular Gigginox. He refused to take down the quest. I left. Since I was host, the room is disbanded and now he has to find a key quest room. I was going to bed soon anyway and only needed one more Foul Poison Gland, but that's not the point. When a room is made specifically for one reason, that's what people join for. The other two people didn't want to do Baleful either, no one joined his quest. So he was taking valuable space being a prick. I might have been more cooperative with him if it wasn't for the fact that he was a Kelbi Bow Spammer...and see the first point for my opinion on that.
Just so pissed off at randoms right now. I probably shouldn't be, but I am.

Congrats! Enjoy your Shakalakas not fighting anymore, and explosions that have ranges far outside of the animation's display!
Brachy is fun but he can be so annoying sometimes.

Couldn't you just have kicked the guy? You were room host, after all.
Anyhow, working on upgrading my weapons as far as I can get them. Then I'm off to finally start my solo runthrough of every goddamn Port quest in the game.

I'm glad I haven't bought the game for the 3DS. I tried out the demo and god the camera movement is so annoying to control. Starting to get the hang of it, but I might not end up buying it for the 3DS and will probably wait until I get a wiiU and get that version instead. I'm afraid of breaking the circle pad on my 3DS playing MH just like the one on my PSP(the character starts walking to the left without touching it ).

I'll probably do that next time - or, maybe just save all the guild quests for when I can complete them with friends, lolol. I still haven't unlocked Ceadeus in the village so I should do that now Q_Q

The only time I really REALLY hate the controls on the 3DS is when I have to fight something underwater - though that's more a grievance against the underwater mechanics, not the controls. xD I hated the controls when trying the demo as well, though I quickly got used to it after getting the game.

There's a difference between the controls on the demo and game?

Did not know you could even kick people.

You can set the CPP's ZL and ZR to Camera control, but not in the Demo. Same problem on the Wii U's demo. Also, there's various other options that they don't let you set in the demo dealing with how dodging works in relation to the camera and some other stuff.

Don't have a CPP and won't be getting one until they release an XL one in the US. I also tested out the auto targeting system when pressing L and it is AMAZING. It helps so much, but I assume it isn't as good as using ZL and ZR for camera control.
Would be so awesome if the regular LR buttons can be used for camera control and replace the function of what the LR normally did with something on the touch screen or the control pad. Pretty much have the ability to customize all the controls in the game.

They actually did. It's on the Nintendo Store.

That actually would be nice.
I would also like it if you could have UI elements on both the screen and the touchpad at the same time. It's really annoying to have your HP disappear on the screen because you put it on the touchscreen.

No no, just saying that it took a bit of gameplay for me to get used to it (and would never go back to the PSP if ever given the chance).
Oh man, today was awesome hunting. Friend and I made it to HR4 and did nothing but farm Brachydios until we both got ourselves almost the entire set (still need HR Agnaktor stuff for the chest) and the fancy longsword. We've come to the conclusion that the only reason our other friends are still stuck on the Brachy mission is because they're going in with a full party of four, and getting slimed + pounced on is pretty much instant death.
Now all we need is to go find a HR Agnaktor and we'll be all shiny blue and stuff.
Edit: Also, the drop rate is hilarious. I finished the first HR Rath quest today with friend; he finally got his first rath plate (after killing 40 - literally 40 - on his own) while I got a rath ruby. The first Brachydios kill also got me his gem, while friend is still finding his. xD

I've taken down Brach in only two attempts. I can honestly say I personally love this monster and the fight we had. It's his rage mode is when it gets serious, in his normal state, he's relatively easy. Bad thing is that when it dropped dead, it landed to where I can't reach the corpse without leaving the map. Carved nothing but his tail.

I think I really like Brachy too - maybe because his rage mode isn't as dangerous as other monsters. As in, as long as I'm not really really really unlucky with getting slimed and then getting jumped on, it's pretty safe to just keep attacking instead of backing off entirely. He doesn't even seem to get godmode speed while raged - or maybe it's because his normal state is slow enough as it is.
If this were Diablos - nope don't want that, no sir, I think I'll chill out in the next area for a minute. >_<
Also the Dios longsword and armor set = beautiful. One more reason why I liked Brachy.

Which is a more effective Brach weapon? Long Sword or Sword/Shield?

The one that hits more = more explosions since the slime builds up faster. That's why the Dios DS are so OP.

I can second this, with only the Dios DS my time is now 1/3 of what it used to be and I killed more bosses after him with only 5-6 Mega potions, didn't even use flash bombs...

After forging my SnS and seeing the awesome power of slime, I should've gone for the Swords. Well, more Brach capturing for me.
