Just when people were settling down...

Hearing claims of dozens injured, 50 injured, seriously injured, etc.

Live stream from local Boston news station

Fairmont Copley Plaza locked down, apparently people are still running the marathon

EDIT : do not post pictures, they're kinda gross

Just heard back from my cousin, she lives in boston. Says things are pretty crazy right now, but she's safe at work right now. Thank god.

It better not be North Korea on Kim Il Sung's birthday.

Imagine having to run the marathon, reaching the finish line, you're tired as balls and then this pomegranate explodes and you have to keep on running.

What a jerk.

AP Breaking News as of 4:06 PM EST: Boston Police Department: 2 dead, 22 injured in 2 explosions near marathon finish line

Thoughts and prayers to those affected.

My uncle competes in marathons and Iron Man races all the time, and ran the Boston Marathon today, so needless to say I was incredibly worried when I heard the blasts occurred as the first few waves of racers were finishing. Thankfully he's okay (and finished in record time!).

EDIT: Aaaaand my mom just texted me saying he had crossed the finish line 10 minutes before the bombs went off. Holy pomegranate.

New York post site says "At least 12" dead according to emergency services?

What a jerk.

The people who could keep running aren't the ones I'm worried about.

Numbers I've read from ABC, CNN, and Washington Post put the deaths closer to 2-3

64 injured between the marathon and the JFK; 2 dead, 8 in critical condition, so far.

3rd one in JFK library apparently, and got a suspect who's wounded with strapnel.

Uh, wow. I leave the computer for two hours...

This is horrible. People are paranoid and racist about explosions enough as it is. My heart goes out to those who were affected. Sad

In case you all have friends you haven't been able to contact. Google works ridiculously fast.

I'm about a mile away from the finish line. No one I know has been injured (that I know of yet). Sirens have pretty much just stopped going by my dorm.

My directing teacher started the conversation how this would be even more scary if it's just like the Bain scene where he blew up the football field with the player looking back. Oh the s Cary thought.
