I'd prefer parties of six over an expedition personally because full expeditions for us usually means 10-20% of the party ends up vanishing due to disconnections. That being said, I agree.

That attack Vellum does is the most epic attack ever.

5th job is trash if the dmg cap remain 50mil ... and you wont able to solo even with 5th job... unless it attack speed are as fast as mercedes and that it hit 15line per attack then u can

Very impressive solo run. A full party + him could probably beat it.

For those of you who wish to understand what the heck that Hyper Beam does to the map, look at the range:

(Part 1 of) Hyper Beam(facing right)
ltx=7000, lty=1300, rbx=635, rby=-70

i.e. a box of size 6365 x 1370, positioned just after Vellum's mouth (using the picture from TS), and sinks 70 pixels below your feet i.e. crouching is useless c.f. Snack Bar. For the sake of comparision, our current screen is 1024 by 768, and the new wide-screen resolution is 1366 by 768. Even with the new resolution, you have to cover more than 4.5 screen lengths, or more than 6 screens with the current resolution (and I'm pretty sure that even if you stand right at the end of the map you're dead anyway... maybe unless you're a Paladin).

Also, notice that there is a forced-movement period before Vellum attacks, presumably from "sucking in loads of air"?

edit: Just did some measurements. Vellum's map doesn't even cover 3 widescreen screen lengths. Overkill much...

probably to get the player at the spot where the hyper beam starts, or that he/she has a lesser chance of avoiding it

Are people still on the boat that Xenon has the best DPS in the game again? I thought this was disputed already.

That would depend on how many times they get killed still. I honestly think they should give it a try though, a duo beating the toughest boss is much better than a solo that does nothing.

Word. They finally make bosses that are challenging, but it's more expensive than it's fun.

3000$ (3mil nx) for that kind of damage would be cheap.

Agreed there, and people kept telling me otherwise, seriously. Anyways, I guess they just want to profit more themselves by soloing since they can just send in all mules to loot.

edit: It's also possible that, more people means more havoc because of all the tails coming out like you seen at the end.

If he made more attempts on the tails and his aoe dive attack, which he doesn't seem comfortable hitting the exact frame the hitbox comes out on, he seems to have the dps to kill him solo. He just dies too much because vellum is silly with those attacks.
