[Spoiler=Second Opinionouble Rainboom -Extremely Minor Spoilers, still readable] Well, now that I got a better grasp of it after the 5th time watching it, I still stand by most things, expect a few. The animation was a little more polished nearing the end of it, and I guess it's passable for what they had, The plot was worse than I thought, the crossover was just, wtp. The Voice acting, well, thinking about it, when I watched it at a better quality, all but Dash and Twilight sound very off. They could have tried for a better va.
Overall, the episode got very mixed reactions ranging from praising it to immensely hating it to being extremely indifferent about it. It's a hellstorm of fights apparently. The praisers are defending on the grounds they don't have quite the exact same equipment and such, but yet things like Epic Wub Time was even more close in terms of voice acting, and even Snowdrop, being almost dead on. If anything the animation project was stretched over a year, and many things started to catch dust, as far as I've noticed and herd, but overall, they just feel like it's good in terms of being a fan animation, but in terms of trying to be "authentic", it's got a long way to go in terms of writing, certain spots of animation and even music. It just doesn't feel right. The music...from a musician's view...it's just...not really engaging. From the terms of the haters, it's lackluster, and the crossover was completely unexpected and if they were going for a feel to the show, why put a crossover when the show didn't do that either? Alongside that, didn't they need approval from frau...oh. Nevermind. (Gonna point out the crossover and copyright issues)
SECOND OPINION Plot:4/10 Moral:4/10 Animation:8/10 Humor:6/10 Overall:C
I really enjoyed watching it all. The animation is scarily amazing, and the PPG cameo made my day. Now onto some nitpicks:
-I think they could have done without the meme faces. It kind of drove me out of thinking it could be an MLP episode.
-Rainbow Dash felt like she got added a huge dash (buh dum tsh!) of Pinkie Pie into her character. In the beginning up until she started flying at super-supersonic speeds I thought it was Pinkie Pie instead of Rainbow Dash
Other than that, it was a fun watch. Inside jokes like Derpy and Dr. Whooves were nice without making it too obvious. The only one that felt forced was Snowflake/Roid Rage. Being one that watched PPG, the 2nd half was just awesome to watch. Some may complain they were being too brutal to the monster, but if you think back it's quite common of them to rip and destroy monsters that invade Townsville.
Animation: 9001/10 Definitely it's strongest suit
Writing: 6/10 Characterization made it too easy to know it's a fanmade work. However, it's still an okay story if you look at it from a "shenanigans ensue" type of story. She got off pretty scott-free for nonlethally nuking all of Ponyville with her antic.
Moral: 7/10 Could have been worded better, but at least Rainbow Dash sounded like she learned her lesson
Authenticity: Again, you can tell it's a fanwork. It won't fly as a canon episode.
Enjoyment: 9/10
I won't let glaring issues like the writing stop me from enjoying the amount of work that was put into the episode animation-wise. Here's one way to look at it. Get down the animation, you can then focus more time on the story. There's still loads of potential from this Pony fandom, and I'm proud of it. I can imagine someone in the future will improve upon the works of Double Rainboom, and create an episode that's not just matching the animation but also give a story that would sound just like an actual MLP episode.
This was a fan animation. And for a fan animation, it was very well done.
If it was an actual episode, yes, it would be met with a lot of bad reviews. But it was made by some very dedicated fans who really knew what they were doing. I applaud them for that.
Spoiler
The voice acting was a bit flat and they didn't quite capture the PPGs' personalities well, but the animation was very fluid and the story was okay.
That animation was incredibly impressive. I applaud them for that. The story and pacing was pretty flimsy, but still, I think they did decently, all things considering. It was fine.

The weird part about watching this since I'm taking Japanese, is that I know what the lyrics mean in a rough. I just finished the 1st Ep, Jap Dub, and well...
...In a matter of hours, "certain" japanese forum sites exploded with Western Pony stuff...And spoilers as well. It's pretty crazy.

I loved rarity's voice in japanese
also I loved how the original names and how they sound in japanese... sounds funny appuruboom appurujacku aquesturia
the op... sounds something I would like to play on taiko no tatsujin... they often put music from shows of tv tokyo... so I really hope to see it there someday(maybe pony as dancers too...)
