 So, you think running into the water will help you?

What'd be a good weapon set for me? I keep my sword/shield as my primary weapon, but I could use a damage dealer and like a backup.

Dual Swords are good for quick bursts of damage, but are hard to master due to Stamina usage if you don't intend to cheese and spam Dash Juice.

Great Sword is great for pot shots when the mob is distracted or otherwise standing still.

Long Sword is good if you can't aim for pomegranate, but isn't really all that great for breaking concealed parts like Barroth's arms because the majority of attacks aren't focused.

Lance and Gunlance are good for what Long Sword isn't. They can focus in on certain parts and are best when you know exactly where to hit.

Hammers are AMAZING for exhausting your enemy, due to blunt being part of every attack. Even if you don't hit the head you exhaust enemies with all blunt hits. Hammer with Stamina Thief is amazing. In P3rd I've had enemies who just ate get back into exhaust in less than a minute, it's insane. With your enemy exhausted they tend to just sit there, and are easy to slaughter. Exhausting enemies also kicks them out of rage faster.

Hunting Horn is good for self buffs and has the same exhausting ability that Hammer does, although you will likely hit less than you would with Hammer.

Bowguns are pretty multi purpose but some bowguns can just straight up suck ass. It all depends on what the ammo capabilities are.

Bows are great mobility with the ability, with the right shot and coating combination, to be extremely focused like Lances and be able to dish out large amounts of damage if you know exactly where to hit(Rapid Shot), can spread status effects quickly(Scatter Shot), or can simply do damage over the entire body easily (Pierce Shot).

I don't know much about Switch Axe's capabilities so I have no comment there.

Just got my copy. Am not very far into it yet but it is pretty stunning for a 3DS title. Also what the hell is up with the tutorial text? Even though I have an XL it is all warped. Apart from that the controls are nice and really appreciate how you can customise the bottom screen.

Starting off with duals since I like the speed and dodges.

I have never tried to knock out a monster so quickly out of fear of that giant evil pickle.

Baleful Gigginox is giving me some issues,his wide range coupled with stun shock is giving me issues....I probably need to tackle as much as possible from the side.

Yeah, I did not like Gigawatt Gigginox. The HR quest where you have to fight him and a HR Gigginox (in HR, their poison deals more damage and widdles down your health faster, than in LR) is a pain in the arse.

About to go up against Jhen Mohran, this should be fun!

Nah, I can't agree with that. He's only a douchehat/bag when he summons Jho. Otherwise he's quite an entertaining random monster generator in my opinion.

Yeah I don't know what they were doing with the text. When you have 20 of an item like Whetstones it looks like you have 2C (C is backwards), you can't see that line to make it 0. It's crazy.

Better than High Rank regular Gigginox with super poison. Love seeing attacks do less damage than poison in the time it takes to eat an Antidote.

Overall Giggi is a pretty boring monster too. I just range him and get it over with as fast as possible. Got the Grim Venom Glands I needed from the dual Giggi + Giggi Sub quest so I didn't intend to do him much for a while....until I ran into Giggi U being perfect HR Hammer armor...

I am going to throttle you. I need two of those to make my first top-tier GS.

My copy of the game should be arriving in two days or so. Played through the demo with my brand new perfume-smelling 3DS, and omg the 3D can be disorienting at times, but most of the time looks so prettyful asdfkljdsfk

And yeah, the camera was extremely annoying. Not too bad for the two demo quests, but definitely don't want to take on anything relatively difficult without the Circle Pad thing. <_<
