What is the class of your main character?
Luminous

Q1. Do you think the balance between classes in MapleStory is appropriate?

No, it is absolutely not.

Q2. For which level range should level up content be added?

Lv. 181~190

Q3. I am satisfied with the current buying and selling system for items.

No, I am absolutely not.

Being unable to buy or sell items in @cash/NX or real life cash puts us at a disadvantage, mainly because we can't use our mesos to buy cash shop items to upgrade ourselves legally. Selling items through mesos would also require a lot of trades being done for godly items; how are we to prevent ourselves from being scammed? They should have an auction system where people would be able to bid for an item and pay for it at a shot.
(kay I know they increased the mesos cap, but even a 10 million mesos cap can't any some godly items in a single trade Rolleyes)

Q4. I am satisfied with the current item enchantment system (scrolls, potential, enhancement).

No, I am absolutely not.
Requires too much @cash/nx to get an equip godly. This game is supposed to be free-to-play, and the potential system is just making it hard for it to be free-to-play. Non-@cash/nx players would lag far behind @cash/nx funded players in terms of damage and leveling.

Q5. The story in MapleStory is fun and interesting.

Somewhat likely.

The storyline can be quite interesting at some parts, but they just seem quite short at times. And then there's boring storyline which makes no sense...

Q6. The interface in MapleStory is familiar and convenient to use.

Yes it is.
Don't have much problems with the interface, quite easy to use too.

Q7. Please write what your most interesting moment was in MapleStory.
Going to bosses pre big bang. There was so much fun going for boss runs that actually requires a lot of teamwork and co-operation. It was fun thinking of ways to down the boss, to know that we have to try different method to down the boss safely, without much deaths, where we needed communication between players; e.g. HT (bait being seduced and requiring a bishop to tag and heal to prevent the bait from dying)

Q8. Please write what moment in MapleStory left you with dissatisfaction/inconvenience.
The release of new jobs that are so much more better than older jobs, making older jobs less wanted, lousier compared to the newer jobs even with the same amount of fundings.

Q9. Please write what should be updated in MapleStory?
More higher level contents, interesting storylines.

Q10. Please write something about MapleStory.
It used to be a fun game pre big bang, till potential came out and ruined it for everyone.

My bad, I didn't respond, ironically, to my post because I was in agreement with you on that.

Punch Wrote:Does Nexon track every single purchase through the Cash Shop of all Maplers? If so, they COULD refund all NX spent on any cash item related to the potential system.. there's still Gachapon and other NX costing appliances like that, so the NX HAS to come back to Nexon in some way and still won't be wasted by the player. And they could throw in a 2x EXP event like they always fudging do in order to "make it all better" with the players that got refunded.

In JMS they do. When I go to my history on the Nexon Point page it has history for every single purchase I've made, JMS or otherwise.

But what Jared said is true. People love fat, large numbers, and Potential gives it to them. I wouldn't be surprised if there are some people who wouldn't even play MS if it wasn't for the fact that throwing cash at it gives them big numbers that make them feel stronger than everyone else.

To those people I counter with Disgaea. Oh wait, depending on console price you just might be paying almost the same but come on, I'm sure there's other good games on the console!

But they're not big, fat numbers, just long ones.

Priorities. Rolleyes What's a big fat number in comparison to a lean, mean exponential machine?

Aww, but it looked so pretty too!

*Cough* I'll admit I like seeing big numbers too but I like to see my bank account not drop a digit because of it. Hence, I'll pass on it.

Big numbers are relative. There was a time when hitting 9k was considered a lot.

Then hitting 99k was godly.
Then 200k.
Then 999k.
Then 50 million.

If this goes on, soon your damage in MS will display like this: 49,999,999^9999

That's what happens when people don't pay attention to how much that is relative to the boss they're fighting. Honestly, 999k should have been enough and then they should have begun to make more tricky mechanics instead of adding all those cheap things like more PDR to make things more difficult.

KhainiWest Wrote:I'm not saying scrap the cubing system, I'm saying offer a free alternative system that is inferior to the cubing system, but reasonable. Having the ability to reach 80% of the "potential" damage for free is a huge considerable difference than what we have now.

You know if they implemented cubes you could buy with mesos (maybe 1m each), but the cube had the risk of downgrading the equip (epic -> rare) as well as upgrading, and each item had a meso cube limit (e.g. could only have 10 meso cubes applied per day), I think that would do the trick. (And of course they should be sold by an npc, an excellent meso sink.) And cash cubes would still sell just fine because all the psycho cubers who cube to legendary would never do it on 10 cubes a day (especially if the cube might downgrade their equip).

GMS tracks this also. I can log in on the website and view purchases from 2006.

I see where you're going with this, and though it's a solid idea, I think it'd be easily exploitable--both by farming with multiple accounts as well as by less-respectable means. Realistically, we're still dealing with Nexon, and something about that would result in the economy being even more screwed.

Then Maple will literally be like Disgaea and we'll be doing this:

The restriction should be on the item, not the character or the account. So I don't see how more accounts would exploit this.

On the damage discussion, I think by the end of 2013 the cap will have raised to 99mil, 50mil is kind of an odd place to stop.

Quote:I'm satisfied. (I feel like this question is going to be taken as 'oh, they're not satisfied, let's add MORE ways to increase the stats of items', so I'm going with satisfied).

That's exactly what I was afraid of, though given that you don't get to elaborate on your choice it's impossible to tell how they're supposed to take it.

Main Character Class: Adventurer Magician.

Q1. Do you think the balance between classes in MapleStory is appropriate?
•No, it is absolutely not.

Q2. For which level range should level up content be added?
•Lv. 141~250

Q3. I am satisfied with the current buying and selling system for items.
•No, I am absolutely not.

Q4. I am satisfied with the current item enchantment system (scrolls, potential, enhancement).
•No, I am absolutely not.

Q5. The story in MapleStory is fun and interesting.
•Somewhat likely.

Q6. The interface in MapleStory is familiar and convenient to use.
•Yes it is.

Q7. Please write what your most interesting moment was in MapleStory.

The discovery of the plot-line. Before it was shoved-in with every character class introduced. How fun it was to explore the Maple World as an explorer and discover the history of the Black Mage (Magatia) simply by questing to aid others. Everyone knew the terrible reign of the Black Mage, but select few know about his deeper history and connections. Content like the Silent Crusade are going in the correct direction, if you want some more-recent additions.

Q8. Please write what moment in MapleStory left you with dissatisfaction/inconvenience.

The point the game introduced cash-items that impacted gameplay vastly and yet were unobtainable in-game without the use of cash. The major offender is miracle cubes (potential). In a game where most players strive on simply killing monsters and bosses, using cash to divide the gap in damage between players is simply tearing the community apart.

Q9. Please write what should be updated in MapleStory?
Revamping of job classes. MapleStory needs to create skills that truly validate partying. Example, Paladins having high defense are no use if all they are doing is defending themselves. They should be given the abilities to tank damage for party members as well, just like in many other games out there. The game needs to think of unique, yet truly balanced skills for each class. If you cannot balance current classes, adding any more only spells disaster.

Q10. Please write something about MapleStory.
The game can still revitalize itself. It's just a matter of going balancing correctly, which unfortunately, the game hasn't done since Big Bang.

Q2: Hard to pick just one, everything 50+ could use some better leveling content.

Eh, I'll go with 101-110. The worst patch for me getting characters to 120 for Link Skills.

Q6: Yes, very much so.

Q1, 3, 4, and 5: No, absolutely not.

Q7 and Q8: Hard for me to really say. Maple Story's pretty much the thing I fall back to when I run out of things to do. I mostly keep up with updates even when not playing because it's like a glorious trainwreck. You can't look away. Not really much interesting moments, all pretty much all dissatisfaction.

Q9: EVERYTHING.

Q10: Make the Black Mage a boss already.
