There was a server restart yesterday a bit after noon, I remember checking my shop only to see I was dced. After I came back on I saw people scrambling for empty spots in FM 3 so it wasn't just me. I guess that's what they're talking about, though it only happened once in MCYK.

Pretty sure they never fixed the actual problems, just patched over the crashing methods.

Friend's stuff got duped this morning by accident. All I can say is he did something, server crashed, and he had his stuff duped. It was completely unintentional but if the crashes were on purpose (which I'm sure they were) then anyone that knows what to do could dupe their stuff very easily.

That's interesting because a little later after the crash I saw people smegaing that they were selling cheap perm NX in a random FM on channel 6, kinda in the middle of nowhere. They talked about "restocking" the shop frequently too, which made me suspicious about them all being dupes so I didn't go. I had no idea dupers could manually cause crashes like that, though.

well how duping worked was via mini rollbacks.
they'd transfer the items to another character, safely log out on that character, then crash the server so that the player who had the original items that got traded away is reverted to a point before he traded the item away
they could easily fix this by MAKING TRADES CAUSE SAVE POINTS FOR CHARACTERS but, nexon.

Was thinking of spending 30k NX to reach level 200. Guess it won't happen any time soon.

Phew. Good thing I knocked out my last 5 levels in RLH yesterday.
Still got like 8 keys left. Oh, well, they probably will extend it.

Actually, should I even be spending 30K NX to reach level 200?
Is it that hard from 186-200? I never had such a high leveled characters and it got me wondering... (Getting NX is not an issue)

No. It is much more worth it just to spend some time training. Waiting for 2x events definitely helps and you could always buy some 2x cards, but you don't need to spend any nx to reach 200.

Yeah, I actually have enough for 35 more keys (the 35 bundle) and that would get me to 191-ish. I really just want to secure level 195 to spam snipe as a Marksman. Of course, I'll have to wait until hyper skills to come out...
I tried HoH for about 10 minutes at around level 170 so I can't really assess how good it is. Does anyone have any feedback?

I don't think i've trained a level past 150 on any character without an exp multiplier of some kind above 2x.

Ok. Usually you have hs in these places so most people do not train on 1x exp. I have trained without some ridiculous exp multiplier though.

they could easily fix this by MAKING TRADES CAUSE SAVE POINTS FOR CHARACTERS but, nexon. i remember it worked like this at some point though! when duping was fixed nexon had some channel crashes and such happen, i checked if the storage method of putting stuff in before crashing worked, and getting stuff deleted by taking it out worked, and i achieved nothing, same for shops.
i assume storage is what caused the dupes this time, i have honestly no clue why the "fix" or whatever nexon had done suddenly stopped working
(and before anyone asks, no, i wasn't trying to dupe for profit or anything, i was testing with potions and etc stuff i had in my inventory.)

i've heard of about 7 different ways to dupe being found (since the beginning of maple), no idea if all of them were true, but it's still more than what any game would want or even allow.

Oh i wasn't even talking about hs. My point was, yeah you can train without exp modifiers but after 150 it's really really worth having as opposed to not.

You don't get full leech at HoH until level 179, so unless you're playing a lumi or another class that can quickly hit all the monsters on both plats before other party members kill them, the SH map is better. HoH is great exp during 2x with a full party and HS otherwise, though. If you're lucky you'll even find people who'll let you leech on a ladder while they attack, though the exp is slower for you. I'd save my NX for other things.

No its not worth it spending time to train.
-Finding a party that will train when its not x2
-Waiting for x2 events that happen when you actually have a day off. If you are late for the x2 events all party are full and your out of luck.
-Your training friends will be 10 levels ahead of you so they wont be training in maps just for you.
-Losing exp because of lag spikes. After training at 19x and gaining 10% without any x2 you lose it all.
RLH is cheaper than training and its more convenient for players that work or go to school. It took me 5 years just to get to 200 on my hero. All the x2 was on days i work and all my friends already got to 200. Those that were training already had their training group and will kick you in a heart beat for their friends. Lets not forget the epidemic of hackers that were at Time of temple at one point and in lhc.
Yes, you dont need to spend nx to reach 200, but it will take a while and not being a high enough level to do certain bosses is a buzz kill. Then you find yourself just going off maple because their is nothing to do. Training is easier now, but its still a hassle.

LOL, only 7? I look at illegal item generation as a way of duping as well, in a way. I'm surprised hackers haven't yet found a way to dupe characters or accounts with the way Nexon handles things.
