OMG A SUBBED VIDEO?! There are two possiblities I can consider

a) Nexon cheaping out on production costs and choosing to sub, rather than hire voice actors/actresses.
b) Nexon realising that the playerbase is much more exposed to Japanese media (as opposed to Korean), and would favour original voices.

Perhaps it's a combination of both--but it works out for me either way. I am definitely hoping that they retain the character voices in-game.

If they retain Kanna's original in game voice I will DEFINITELY be playing the female. her voice acting was awesome.

It makes sense in context, Kanna and Hayato come from ancient Japan, as displayed in the update highlights, they use a completely different currency too, so it makes sense that they don't speak english.

It will make cutscenes where they DO speak English quite awkward though, unless Maple World has some kind of universal translator thing going on. How do we even know that the Maple language is English?

Words do not express how excited I am for Kanna or how happy I am that they subtitled it. Hopefully they keep Japanese names and voices since my reserved name is ChimyakuTeni

They could just get a male actor and have him repeat a few of her lines.

That updated male kanna hair is actually pretty good.

You imagine everything is subbed and everyone has a Babelfish in their brain.
(I only posted that because I took that from the GMS YouTube channel and can assume they're subbing THAT much.)

People from a different dimension (nova classes) 'speak' the same language as maple world people. Honestly, being able to understand someone 'just' from another country, especially when we've already been to places that would have spoken japanese (mushroom shrine and addons), means that they must speak some common language.
