Nexon America Inc. v. Ryan Michael Cornwall
KhainiWest Wrote:I find it interesting that Nexon is in fact a Delaware company, though not surprising considering how bad California is lol

They're not a Delaware company, they just chose to Incorporate there.

I hate to be grasping heavily here, but does the "Ryan" mentioned here go by his middle name (or the shortform of "Mike")?

If so, I was actually hanging around this freak inside Phantasy Star Online 2's Japanese server. He's doing his BS there in the name of "saving" the game. He apparently takes all the credit for the fixes that Sega Japan pulls off, and boasts about his so-called hacking.

That may be irrelevant, but this might not be: According to him, he just paid like $400 grand for some house in Canada so he could raise his kid (read: stepbrother). And supposedly, he set someone up to take the fall for him.

I'm probably grasping, but I can't ever be too certain. Not when I've become wary of all kinds of people, not just hackers.

Probably unrelated.

Added a new case to the list, although I think everyone is less likely to care. It's a patent infringement case against Nexon by Parallel Networks.

For the lazy, this is a patent holding company (Parallel Networks) vs Nexon. Initially I thought it was Parallels.

meh - a ridiculous judgement which is way over the top. 750k for a little h4ck lolol. of which probably they will receive very little or nothing Rolleyes

IP law is excessive and needlessly punitive. ryan/mike/alexandria and others are now bankrupted several times over. Poast

the site is still running. ryan/mike/alexandria and others just had the misfortune of living in the US and actually responding to the lawsuit. PineappleBlush

on the second case (paralletl) - probably a patent troll. a dodgy patent which they bought from someone and are using it to harass them to try to get some cheap money Hurt

This "Mike" is nobody on the list Nexon was targeting. It sounds more like doezx if you ask me. Cocky and egotistical.

Ryan = Alexandria. He changed his name to a more feminine one because he's transsexual. Ryan/Alexandria = Riukuzaki and last I knew he was still coding his own game. He has no siblings, he went to Baylor but I believe he was forced to drop out because of the lawsuit while at the same time trying to cover his mother's medical bills when she was committed to a hospital around the same time the lawsuit began. Basically Nexon ruined his/her life because he created a free packet editor that a bunch of teenagers used to exploit their game.

It's pretty unfair for anyone to say "phucc them" when you don't actually know the person. Lawsuits are serious, games are not. Wanting hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages from a person who can barely afford their tuition because they create a program to use on your 2D game is what America is all about.

Sure its important to remember they're all human, but damn hearing of someone getting absolutely rekt is satisfying.

And yet, Riu is continuing to create and engineer bots for Maple.FM.

And yet, all it is is a system that should/will be implemented into the game itself. I bet that site is just so devastating to Nexon.

"I think your game should've let me do this" isn't exactly a legal defense.

And considering how much Douglas' father begged to repeal it, you think that ryan would follow suit and play "MY MOTHER IS SICK" card.

edit: Also considering how optimistic he is about this whole fm website, I genuinely think all of that is a bunch of bull sh`it fed to him on a spoon.

>Got sued 500 grand
>Mom's sick
>Dropped college
>Make website to benefit game/company who sued me 500 grand and ruined my life
>????
>Profit

Why is that in quotes? Because I didn't say that, nor did I say anything about it being a legal defense for him. All I said was that it's a site that hardly harms Nexon, and helps users in a way that should have already been done by Nexon.

This entire lawsuit was a giant joke anyways. I mean the site they targeted is obviously still up and obviously still sells hacks and provides free ones to exploit the game. Literally nothing has changed; if it was a scare tactic, it clearly failed.

Because it was a paraphrasing of what the actual quote by you there implies.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.
