Can somebody explain to me how this works?
Do I need to buy CS items to get the best effects from it? Or to keep certain stats longer than usual?

Yes. (Well, you don't need to buy the upgrade cubes. Only the extenders to keep the stat you want longer than 7 days)

Do you need to buy those items with USD? No.

You can also just not care, when mine ran out, it reset to 3 on everything. I think it's nice for free stats.

But yes, NX is involved to change the stats and keep them for longer than a week, without relocking every week.

There REALLY isn't any reason not to. Even if you let it reset on it's own you can get great things out of it. When you get something good you can keep it for a week. It's worth the character space.

And wait what. NX isn't required to reset the stats at all. NX is frowned upon for getting the best stats out of it actually...

I already answered that.

The former you don't need to and shouldn't period. It's a waste of money.

The latter you have to do if you want to keep stats for longer than 7 days. This isn't a choice.

Right, sorry, totally forgot about the other dropped items, and forgot to mention its stats boost themselves as your jett levels to 120.
Shows how much I've forgotten since being unable to play regularly.

I do remember that prior to resetting, my aura had 13~15 all with 14 atk. No nx was used to boost it, all from leveling.

I don't mind spending a bit of cash to get the best possible stats, saves me the time. After I hit 120 on my Jett, I won't be using it for anything but a mule for mastery books. And question, is the core linked to my char based on my jetts core? As in if I want to change my core stats, do I have to log onto my Jett, and change them from it? Or is each core different for each character? I could have max stats on my kaiser, but nada on my Jett itself?

Gotta be on jett to cube/extend it, it's the same core on both characters.
This is also part of why I stopped caring, it forced me to get on the jett to extend it.
