For example, say you're playing Mercedes and change your hair style. Right now, doing that means you have permanently lost access to the "Mercedes" hair.
Just let Mercedes buy a special hair coupon that returns their hair to the default hair style exclusive to newly created Mercedes characters.

Same with Phantom, the new Cygnus Knights, Dual Blades, all those exclusive hair guys.

Hahahahaha. Nope. You can't escape the smegas no matter which tab you use. Can't even escape the system-generated ones for gachapon prizes and the like. But if you do go to expedition chat, you can't see whispers directed at you, or all-chat from people in your map. Doesn't that make perfect sense?

Honestly, I stopped buying 90 day equips long before permanent stuff was available. And there's no way I'll start again.

Last time they had a perma NX sale I bought some just to show them I'm willing. But unless it's immediately consumed (hair coupons, cubes, etc.) I want it to last until I'm bored of it.

Pets likewise, I'd buy the little looting bastards if they were permanent - when I heard they were adding perma pets I got all excited to charge one onto my Kaiser, and then it turned out they didn't have permanent looting items to go with it. Well then. I don't mind spending $15 to give my character a permanent ability to loot without using the Z key. I do mind spending $9 for 3 months of that. I found the 3 month stuff felt like an obligation - oh, have to log on to take advantage of my pet. When it's permanent, I can use it whenever I'm ready.

To be honest I got fed up with playing my Kaiser/AB because they don't have permanent pets. Every 2nd quest in Heliseum wants me picking up 50 drops, and characters are less fun when you have to loot - you can't teleport freely around, or attack from a distance, you have to run up and stand on every loot pile for 5 seconds.

I am not sure if this is even a good idea, but basically, create a world that you must buy some sort of entrance fee to, and make it in that world to have nothing to do with NX (Cash Shop, and everything in it), potentials, unaffected by 2x events, etc. Characters also may not transfer in.

Yeah, sounding like a broken record of some nostalgic moron, but if there was a price to pay for some exclusive NX-free club world, it would be nice, even if it is upwards to let's say $100 USD per character to be created there.

Regardless of maplestory not being the only source of money, maplestory still needs to be a larger source.

Nexon JP occasionally adds the Premium Mini Dungeon system. It's very off and on. When they do have it available, I find it a pretty cool idea.

What it is: A ticket, which last I checked is basically a dollar after conversions (I think it's like 800 yen), gets you 30 minutes in any mini dungeon you want as a Premium Mini Dungeon. Premium Mini Dungeons have increased EXP (2x), and special drops from what's normally supposed to drop. For example, the Skelegons PMD drops Maple Weapons of all varieties, scrolls, and even at a very low chance the recipes for Empress capes. They also drop coins which you can use to buy stuff from a coin NPC (Nothing really that magnificent, but still decent stuff). All of this stuff has a higher drop rate than normal. For example, when I did the Skelegons one once, I had a full inventory of Maple Gear within 20 minutes, and I had an extra two rows from default on my Paladin.

Almost everything you can get from them is stuff that's obtainable at any time, with the exception of the Maple gear(Which isn't that great anyway). As a result, there's really no big "Unfair advantage" factor for buying tickets. The EXP is also controlled, because Nexon can control what monsters you will be able to run into for these.

That's the kind of stuff we need in the Cash Shop. Fun additions that give you something to do without spending a fortune. I mean, sure, if you only used PMDs for your entire day every day, you'd be spending a fortune, but that's not necessary at all. Fun little bouts of content that aren't required, but give you a little more bang for your buck without giving you an advantage over everyone else would be good for all.

These already exist. Not sure if Nexon removed them or not

How about a NX Storage NPC, which works exactly like the regular Storage NPC, except it has an NX fee to deposit NX items.

Say, you wanna deposit your permanent pet or whatever into the NX storage. NPC will charge 1k NX for deposit. Then any other character in your account can just withdraw it from the NX Storage.

Be careful with what you wish when talking about perma NX.

EMS made all equipment in the CS perma.....sadly they took 90% out so even if you can afford NX clothing (And 5-6 euro/piece is a lot for some, including me) you still look the same.
They were supposed to add all clothing back in those weekly updates, but they never did. My whole wishlist wasn't available anymore, and I've stopped wanting NX clothing, I'm fine with the look of the empress set.

Yes, specifically America, and this is accurate as they restaffed in February of last year. The final quarter results aren't out until the end of the month, I think.

But essentially Nexon is doing fine, a lot of the losses aren't because of lack of interest, rather the economy just sucks right now.
