Pokémon X and Pokémon Y
I will bet my left arm that there is going to be a wannabe-Pikachu.

Wannabe Pikachu is going to be adding a third tier to the Pikachu line.

sigh, I wanted to say something about how much garbage water/flying types are, but honestly it's only because every one of them except Gyarados has awful stats. That said, I actually liked Mantine's design, and hey, it can take a thunderbolt in the face and live :T

I can't wait. I really like the fox starter. It's sooo cute!

Found this kind of funny. :x

I'll say it plainly: Fenniken being fire-fighting will be hilarious. Purely because grass and water have 3 pure starters
and no one complained nor took note of it as far as I've seen. Quite the amusing double standard. Monocle

I always pick the grass starter sans D/P because hell yeah penguins and they've not been a disappointment.
Though annoyingly the fire starter is always the best because you can't get any for AGES in any game yet grass there are 9001+.
It would be nice to see this not happen for once. Hurt

It's not double standards though, there hasn't been any type outside of the fire starter that has has the exact same type combination 3 times in a ROW.
Fire went:
Fire/flying->Fire->Fire/fighting->Fire/fighting->Fire/Fighting
Grass went:
Grass/poison->Grass->Grass->Grass/Ground->Grass
water went:
Water->Water/ground->Water->Water/steel->Water

If we'd had something inbetween the fire/fighters i wouldn't mind, but 3 times in a row?..

In R/B/Y wasn't Charizard just simply Fire and in later updates got made Fire/Flying?

But, otherwise I agree. 3 times in a row for the same typing is silly, something different to go inbetween would be nice.

My charizard in pokémon yellow could learn fly o.o
I know that in red/blue he couldn't, but i'm pretty sure he's always been fire/flying.

The amount of Fire/Fighting Fennekin speculation is hilarious.

Calling it now. The water and the grass type will have fighting sidetype while the fire has water or grass as its sidetype!

Fix'd.

Speaking of redundancy. Let me take a look at the Pikachu syndrome. Marill barely dodged it by being different color, shape and type. Plusle and Minun may have similarity, but IMHO that's a coincidence since they have the ability being Plus and Minus unlike Pikachu. Pachirisu is a Squirrel, but have similar patterns as Pikachu. Emolga is worse than a Pikachu clone, despite being a flying squirrel, it's a love child of Pikachu because of how it looks, and Zubat because of how FDMSKOR;QNWEJIFHUX ANNOYING IT IS! And last but not least despite not being in a Pokemon game.....

EDIT: Possibly fake. Serebii just updated to remove it.

That messed up anatomy is surely not the one of Sugimori's work.

Yeah, the art made me originally assume it was fake when I first saw it on /vp/, but when serebii posts things I usually assume it to be true, especially after the whole incident with the gen 5 starter evos. But now I'm very sure it's fake.

Serebii has had cases of fake info as well, though they usually take them down quickly once they figure out they aren't correct instead of keeping them like other sites typically do.

Seems legit this time; found on /vp/ and serebii posted it shortly after. Looks like an eeveelution (silhouette at the bottom)

Not to mention that Serebii even put in the update that he wasn't sure it was real.
