Edit: This thread is for the discussing of the lastest chapters in any Manga/Manwha/Comic/Toon that you currently read. Just like the Naruto, Bleach and One Piece ones.
To make evident what it is you're talking about, add a title before your post or comment. (like in the "currently airing anime" thread)
I am reading 2 manwha I will start the thread with these:
Tower of God:
Personal thoughts about it:
Spoiler
It's a good series, moves slowly considering there's so much promised to happen in it but... at worst that's just like freaking One Piece. It's in freaking colors and the drawing is good, There's fighting, there's humor, it's weekly... and season 1 is epic.
Coment about lastest chapter:
Spoiler
Viole is the pomegranate. what will happen now that he and Koon met again? beats me
The Breaker / The Breaker: New Waves:
Personal thoughts about the series:
Spoiler
I consider this one to be on par, and even superior some weeks, to the big 4 of manga. The drawing is really good, which makes the fights really good aswell. First season had better quality drawings and much more humor. Second season has a lot more drama and less of everything else but despite of that it keeps being excellent. Every freaking chapter manages to end in a freaking cliffhanger, that can be frustrating, but it wouldn't be possible if the manhwa wasn't good. There are many translations, some are BAD, I personally recommend Ateam's ones. They are the most accurate in my opinion (ipitydafoo.com)
Comment about lastest chapter:
Spoiler
For some reason there's no translation yet of chapter 103 of NW. The raws are up though and HOLY SHETS, that guy must have literally pomegranate himself afterr that attack.
Let's see how long this one survives...
Note: No books talking here. (Ex: "I'm currently reading the hunger games and I find it ..."blah blah blah)
Im going to second you Tower of god. thats awsome. I also am Reading Breaker new waves but sometimes I get tired with it and skip all the text. Is it ok if I list some manhwa finished but wouldnt mind reading again. Also i dont really know the difference between manga and Manhwa by looking at it... Webtoon vs manga/manhwa I do though
Heres my list, :
1)Tower of God
Spoiler
Its pineappleing amazing. Honnestly no reason to not try this one. Probably one of the best out there
2) Trace
Spoiler
This one is also amazing. This is probably my favorate webtoon thingy. ToG isnt my favoriate because it hasnt ended yet. Conclusions are Very important. This one also tells a story in a different way than your used to and also uses plot cleverly. There is a 1.5 season and I think a season 2. But the 1.5 hasnt finish tranlating dont know why. 1.5 is worth reading too but it also hasnt finish.
3) Kubera
Spoiler
This one is the same as the other two in its amazingness. Its about the adventures of a girl and her struggle withs gods and stuff (bad summery) This one is also one you must look at.
4) The God of High School
Spoiler
This is stuff done kinda like naruto/bleach but the characters are already powerful. Though I will say that the plot is done Much better than naruto/bleach. And the arthur doesnt pull stuff out of his ass, even though it may seem like it.
If I had to pick The Top Big 4 manga these 4 would be it. Even though Trace seems to have stopped getting translated.
5)Shingeki no Kyojin
Spoiler
This is one of the most instresting exciting blood pumping things ive ever read. I've only put it here because it only has releases once ever month(beginning ofthe month). But DAM is it good. This is actually the first non-webtoon I've recommended. This one is about Man-kind being overrun by deformed giants. And the mystery is where the giants came from.
6)Noblesse
T
Spoiler
he First few arcs of this are amazing and must read as it gives the character a power normally not seen. But after a while the plot gets redundent and it seems as if the arthur gets sidetracked with things.
Just one nitpick: Shingeki no Kyojin is awesome and all but it is not manhwa. I may edit this post later since I do read The Devil King is Bored but I'd have to see if they've actually updated the chapters.
Breaker has finally gotten back to the action from the first series it seems.
Veritas
Spoiler
I read this one a while back another action/martial arts story, it was a decent read, got into it before I found the first breaker series. It chas ended, there was talk of a part 2 but nothing seems to have ever come out about it.

Freezing-Does this count as a Manhwa? Lol.
Spoiler
First things first, it's an echi. And parts of it are cleared tailored for young, horny, teenage boys. People say the eyes for most of the characters are the same, the plot kind of sucks, the rational for some of the actions the characters do is kinda dumb...
But I love it. I like Im Dal Young's work, and this is probably actually my favorite manga/mahwa of all time. I never personally noticed the eyes for the characters looking similar. I personally thought the art pretty damn good. In fact, I thought the artist drew better than whoever did the anime (which is, like, basically hentai). While he does have some naked moments here and there...I dunno. It's nothing like, say, vastly overdone. Can I get away with saying I read Freezing for the plot?
Okay, I'll have to admit some of the character's actions are stupid sometimes, the characterization...is actually really deep. He's expanded into a subseries (Freezing Zero) which goes into some of the character's pasts. I'll have to admit Im Dal Young is terrible at characterizing males, but I guess it's a bit refreshing from seeing females always so badly characterized (which I have to admit, they are pretty characterized badly. Arrrgh.).
So the plot. Basically, creatures from another dimension basically invade Earth. Fast forward a couple hundred years, humanity created a schooling system to fend them off. Girls are able to move a superhuman speeds and possess superman strength, while having the ability to spawn an individual weapon (...maybe I like this series so much because it was a scythe in it). Guys are able to freeze and unfreeze crap, hence the title. Together, they must fight off the threat.
If you don't mind echi here and there and enjoy Shingeki no Kyojin (even though that's not a manhwa), I would recommend this.
Also, +1 to Tower of God and The God of High School and The King of Hell.

I forgot freezing was a manhwa. I effin love chiffon. One of my favorite characters of all time.
I believe Freezing is drawed by a Korean artist but its published in Japan? Proof of it is that it got an anime, when barely no manwha gets released as anime (I recall). I am not sure though, In any case, if it's published in Korea, it prolly is one of the lastest manwha to still get printed instead of released digitally.
We can discuss Freezing here though, if people read it, why not?
Spoiler
Freezing is an ok manwha. Pretty enjoyable at times but, in my own opinion, it has a lot of flaws. First and biggest Kazuya Aoi. Despite of being the most overpowered limiter he is still far from usefull. His attitude is also way too... passive? I mean given he didn't know the things that happened between Satella and Louis, but heck he didn't even try to punch him whe he was treating her as slave. Anyway, Kazuya's uselessness brings me to another flaw, limiters as a whole. They are freaking useless, they are supposed to be supporters dissabling the Nova's barriers and allowing the pandoras to move freely, but lately all pandoras can break out of a freezing field without help making limiters a joke. As someone in manga fox said, their only role right now is to serve as love candidates to the pandoras.
Tower of God.
Spoiler
It should be obvious to Koon that Baam is alive, he is way too smart not to realise it. "you have t be born evil to play evil", lols that was a nice line".
Freezing isn't a manwha. It's a manga. It's done by a Korean guy, but it's released in Japan in a Japanese magazine (Comic Valkyire), albeit a web publisher now, and is read right to left (manwha are left to right).
Tower of God technically isn't a manwha, either. It's a webtoon, published online, albeit in Korean.
Might as well just make the thread "manwha/manga/whatever." Manwha as a whole isn't too big.
As much as I enjoyed The Breaker series, I find the sequel, New Waves, quite bland. It feels more like a typical shounen manga with the pacing and it no longer gives me that excitement compared to reading the first series. I enjoyed the master-disciple relationship, the subtle humor and found the introduction to the world very neat and I extremely liked how it all played out at the end of the first season. Actually now that I think about it, the first "fight" with the claw guy was pretty amazing too. It threw me off guard because it wasn't what I expected of this series at all.
Spoiler
Now that the master is gone, something is "missing" and it clearly shows. Maybe the author realized how much of a success The Breaker was and made it more "accessible". I wish they got past the ki center broken plot because it's INCREDIBLY dragged on. (say hello to +100 chapters to repair his ki center!!)
FoolsLove Wrote:Tower of God technically isn't a manwha, either. It's a webtoon, published online, albeit in Korean.
It is classified as manwha in most, if not all, online readers. Heck, it is classified as manga in half of them. In any case we can say its a digital manwha. The only difference between regular manwha and it is that is done in a long string and is colored.
Other than Freezing, I don't know what else that's not manwha is being discussed here.

Spoiler
The manwha became way more dramatic after Chunwoo's GF was killed. I could toletare all the drama up to the moment Mr. Cool Guy and Shioon fought each other in the highway, but when that doctor tried to dry Shioon up it started getting tiresome.
I believe New Waves'main problem is no freaking Chunwoo: Since he was so OP, there was little to nothing that could worry or stress hi up, reducing the amount of drama in the series. He was the main character in S1 and not Shioon. I just hope Shioon gets to freaking heal his Ki center already, that might make things go back to something akin the time he firts used the lightning step tech (that scene was amazing).
It also became a weekly series and the autor obviously dragging everything to make the series last as long as possible, but in my opinion this can't be criticized by anyone that reads any of the big 4 of manga. NW's current arc is only 100 chapters, subdivided in like 4 parts of 25. That is way less than a lot the popular manga out there.

It's "classified" as a manwha by most because online readers specify that stuff by language, not actual specifics, or they haven't gotten around to adding the web comic category (in Batoto's case). It's an unpublished Korean webcomic, no different from our web comics like XKCD, 2kinds, Explosm, etc... Which means not an actual manwha. That's why MAL repeatedly denies the requests to add it to their database. Every series named in the thread sans King of Hell isn't actually a manwha.
Would just be better to make the thread about comics in general (manga, manwha, manhua, web comics), instead of specifying manwha.

I agree with this. It'd have a bigger audience for one and then there wouldn't need to be two separate threads for what's essentially the same thing.

Well given that no one seems to bother to much the with the difference from Manhwa and w/e else but i'd probably be more welcoming to invite then all.
OT: there isnt any webtoon stuffs
Spoiler
we need a universal name for all this these that isnt "comics" as that seems too americanish, but I guess it could work
That I havent tried except king of hell. So ill check that out. But we need more people supporting!!
By popular demand, I've changed the tittle and purpose of the thread. You can discuss whatever you read here related to comics you read, but not books because books is way too extensive category.
OT: The Breaver: NW
I said it before and I say it again, anyone complaining about the NW's pacing doesn't read Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Fairy Tail, Kenichi and any freaking manga that has over 200 issues.
Spoiler
I don't mind at all getting a flashback on the Lonewolf, I actually find it pretty cool to know he is the first disciple of Unwoll. This makes it all the more plausible for Shioon to influence him. If he makes it out of this fight with his Ki center alive, it will be because of him.
Oh and that comment about Shioon copying momevents makes it more evident that his BOT is different to that of Goomunryong
Since this is now a "whatever you read but books" thread, I will say recently I found out there is a Marvel hero called The Sentry. I got curious about it because is said to be the strongest marvel hero, so I read a bit about it and watched these 2 videos and dang look pretty good. Too bad there's no way I can get a hold of the rest of it.
Okay, recently updated stuff. From here on out i'll just post whenever something updates.
Onepunch-man
Overall opinion
Sometimes i'm not quite sure what direction the story is trying to take, but regardless every single chapter has been amazingly fun and intersting
newest chapter
Expecting Saitama to just punch the meteor out of the sky in the next chapter, it would be interesting to see just how strong he actually is, still funny that he's such a low rank hero.
The World God Only Knows
Overall opinion
Quite good overall, the latest arcs haven't quite been what i started reading it for but they still manage to be interesting despite being a lot less about rom-com, and keima is a god tier protag, no pun intended.
Newest chapter
Hm, quite an interesting twist indeed and dat Urara at the end of the chapter, can't wait to see how this plays out.
Jigokuren - Love in the Hell
Overall opinion
I really genuinly enjoy this manga, when new chapters are translated that is, sometimes it takes 5ever between new chapters. But when it is being translated i enjoy it massively and it is a quite interesting world.
Newest chapter
Hm, latest chapter just further got me interested in what the pineapple got the MC into hell to begin with because he seems like a nice guy overall
Tonari no Seki-kun
Overall opinion
This is possibly one of the cutest and funniest mangas i have ever read, the chapters are short but interesting, and Seki is amazing.
Newest chapter
Quite interesting to learn more about Seki's past also Yokoi most definitely has a crush on him, hahaha.
Kimi no Iru Machid
Overall opinion
I don't even know why i read this anymore, it started out alright and then it turned into nothing but rage, i've just invested too much time into it to suddenly stop reading it and i want to see how it progresses, i have never hated two main characters as much as i hate Haruto and Eba.
Newest chapter
Haruto being an idiot again together with zero plot progression, wont be long before Seo goes for a pregnancy plot twist, not like he's done that before at all.
Minamoto-kun Monogatari
Overall opinion
Basically a very interesting manga with an interesting premise, the main character is kind of pathetic at times, but he's realistic and likeable, and seeing him progress is kind of awesome, i find myself cheering him on when he becomes more and more of a man.
Newest chapter
Aunt being aunt, kind of happy about him just ditching his child-hood 'friend' after getting her super interested. Also happy that he's getting much more serious and wants to get down to business with the next target.
Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou
Overall opinion
I absolutely love this manga, the characters are awesome and the MC is truly one of the few likeable and manly harem MCs out there, and it's one of the first serialized mangas with real Monster girls, props to okayado.
Newest chapter
Very interesting, i suppose he's working on introducing side characters before getting down to business with plot progression, i mean the plot has been opened to go in one pretty certain direction after all. Also Miia best girl, obviously, lamias are the best.
Centaur's no Nayami
Overall opinion
THIS IS THE CUTEST THING EVER, CUTE HUMAN ANIMAL/WHATEVER HYBRIDS DOING CUTE THINGS, IT'S BASICALLY A HEART ATTACK WITH EVERY NEW CHAPTERS.
And the author is quite brilliant with all the political issues he manages to mix into the background, the manga is actually quite grim if you look at what happens behind the characters. But i love it.
Newest chapter
Sue is too adorable, but i have a weird feeling hybrids like her have a weaker resistance to illness

I read the big 3. Just because I read them doesn't mean the pacing is what I like about them(well except for bleach of course, I just absolutely despise it now) and it doesn't make my complaint any less valid. Now don't get me wrong, I still like The Breaker and will continue to read it and I highly doubt it'll go all bleach on us but pacing IS a problem. It's not a big deal though because the series is still enjoyable for me to read through it like with One Piece and Naruto.
