How you guys find interest in your job?

Despite all the new classes with all their fancy skills and overpoweredness I always return to my Dark Knight in the end because I enjoy playing as a Dark Knight, always have and always will.

Forgot to add,

Kabanaw Wrote:It's something you see other places, like the transition between Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 to 4th edition. Not to start an edition war, but 3.5 was horribly balanced and 4th edition is very well balanced. Why do people still play 3.5/Pathfinder? Because in balancing all the classes, they also made them feel the same. Mechanically, each class works differently and there's actually quite a bit of diversity, but to a lot of people they feel the same, which is often as important or more than mechanically being different. Which is why, even though 4th edition on paper is a better game than 3.5, it's not unreasonable for people to still prefer the previous.

Exactly what they did to poor Buccs.

Buccs got revamped nearly after Cannoneers came out.

>Cannoneers have this skill where they roll a barrel
>OMG let's give Buccs the same skill, except it's a... tornado?

>Cannoneers have a big laser
>OMG let's give Buccs the same skill, except make the papayagy orange spirit cast it

>Cannoneers get Nautilus Ultimate
>OMG let's give the exact same skills for Buccs, they're gonna love it!

Funny thing is, Nexon probably thought they were pretty clever doing that.

Getting bored of Maple in general though

Hey Ally! Im in climax Smile

Right now I enjoy my Ab because I like all the different skills. I enjoy my DB because of the speed. I plan on eventually making a UA Dark Knight to be my end game character. I always liked them because Tiger was the #1 back in the day.

Hero is the class I enjoy the most in MapleStory. There are new classes that are superior in terms of DPM, but those classes are the ones I used as my link skill mules. So if it's another class with a link skill, I'd make one and reach at a certain level. I could go for level 2, but I don't have alot patience to reach level 120 on other class (I don't level that fast mind you.) Hero is a fun class to play as. I said earlier that Kaiser was gonna be my main, but I changed my mind, so a Hero will still be my main no matter what.

Dark Link Wrote:Same with my Paladin. I loved the original idea behind the class, but now I detest the direction they went with the class by making it a "Tank" class with elements slapped on it.

I was initially attracted to the class because, having been a MU Online player in the past (one of the unlockable classes is the Magic Gladiator, who can learn both Dark Knight and Dark Wizard skills), the whole Magic Knight concept really appealed to me...I was really put off by the difficulty I had levelling up though; mobility really really sucked back then.

I like the whole tank business, but not as it currently is; what's the point of being a damage sponge or a moving brick wall in a game where you can't use those traits to protect your team?

Green4Ever Wrote:Overpowered classes are boring, because that's just what they are: overpowered. They require so little effort to be good. Take Kaiser for example. A funded Kaiser can solo literally any boss in the game right now with little to no effort (excluding Hard Magnus and CPB for obvious reasons). It just doesn't seem fun to me. If I wanted to do that I might as well just go play a private server.

This so much. This is why I get sick of overpowered classes so quickly.

I really like the original mages. Evan was fun before they made it overpowered, and luminous is boring as hell as you can ohko almost all mobs....-___-

I like the original mages because they all have different play styles allocated with them. Ice lightning for mobbing. Fire poison for slow but steady damage. And bishops for party aid. However, even these play mechanics have been somewhat messed up with all these revamps..

Polantaris Wrote:Find one where you like the mechanics, look, and feel. It's really that simple. Nexon will continue to make new classes. As a result, if you're looking for a class to stick with, make sure you pay no attention at all to anything regarding damage. If you do, I guarantee you will regret it later. You must choose what you find fun. If you find doing tons of damage fun and that's it, then there's really no class you will be able to stick with, because the newest class will always be better than the rest.

I think I should take your advice because somehow i always find new OP classes fun. They are far too superior compared to existing old jobs, and this is what distracting me from focusing on my main. Maybe i should take my time to get my I/L to lvl 200 already.. :\

Always loved angels and the holy element, along with the act of buffing others so that everybody becomes stronger as a whole... Therefore a Bishop.

Relates to what I do IRL since medicine is in my field of study, which pertains to healing the sick.

I like to think that my job, the Dark Knight, is like Batman. Starting as a great and powerful hero at the beginning... to being weakened and driven away by the people, NEXON, at the end of the second movie. Now... hopefully we get the continuation of the series and become great once more... if only... if only... :/
