"Revamp! Adventurers will be revamped to make then stronger!" We get a revamp every few months now.
Now, "For the first time in 10 years, MS gets a level cap raise!" Guess what we'll be getting in every big update from now on.
Going by this theory we should all be overjoyed every time a new event that gives good items comes out. At any rate that won't happen since other games had a much lower cap than 200 to begin with so they can freely increase it...
Or at least, one would hope.

You'd be surprised to know that they are games that raise the cap even when the max level is 300.

This is the part where I pretend such games do not exist. In any case, whether or not that is a wise choice depends a lot on how easy it is to feasibly reach that level and Maple Story's numbers are fairly high even if you do train regularly.

I don't know if raising the cap so fast was wise.....there's an awful load of work to do......they have to think up the new 5th job class names (anyone who's saying there's not going to be a 5th job are kidding themselves), new skills for the 30+ classes, (which could take months) and let's not forget that the 'end level content' , although I doubt it's going to be anything decent.

I was going to post a "well-thought argument" about why people shouldn't be butt-hurt about this but it looks like that ground's already been covered. Please tell me you spent that time leveling to 200 when gaining a level took two days because you were enjoying it and not for bragging rights. Because, you know, priorities.
Yes because people who strive to meet their goals always love the work along the way. Please that is a retarded argument, that's why the word "tedious" exists, and is in almost in every game. Plus by your logic the next top 5 will be hackers/ex hackers who didn't do anything but cheat people out of the stop to begin with.

Once in ten years is anything but fast unless you're referring to the possibility of increasing the cap first.

Huh? I don't understand. Didn't they raise the cap first?

He's referring to your stating that Nexon is "raising the level cap too fast" when the level cap has never once been raised in the 10 years it's been out.

Or at least, one would hope. You're wrong if you think this way, because only event get repeated over and over again, not the rewards.
Those only get worsen.
Ok the statement above is not entirely correct but you get the idea.

Oh....no it's not that. What I am saying is that Nexon raised the level cap without thinking about the mass amount of work they have to do. Hence why I said that they raised the level cap too fast.

You have got to be joking. Why would they raise it without plans in mind, however good or bad that might be?

I don't see why everyone is assuming Nexon is just raising the cap without doing ANYTHING else at all... the update info even says this is just the beginning... :f6: Nexon might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but they're not idiots. Just wait until more info is given, for pete's sake. <_<;

It's not that. But implementing over 30+ classes worth of 5th job skills + end game content? It's a mounting task alright.

It would REALLY be in everyone's best interest if you guys would just wait to see what content Nexon decides to roll out with this new cap. You guys are having an argument over your opinions which isn't changing the fact that Nexon IS raising the cap and your complaining about this new cap isn't going to stop it from happening . Don't like it?play a new game. MMO's change. They are built to change. Its the nature of the beast. Instead of fighting about cats and dogs why not just wait and see whats planned to be released with these changes , because contrary to popular belief, Nexon actually does plan out content months before its scheduled to be released.

The only benefit to training there was that you weren't bugged by other people.

I am told this is what companies do if they want to survive.

IMO, a more better way of doing things would be like how they did the hyper skills, raise the cap and implement 5th job on a specific group , say adventurers , then move on to the other groups. I don't think that many people would level up purely for the sake of leveling up.

Haha what? Why does the word 'work' exist in a video game? Video games are not a job. Yeah, a lot of games have some level of tedium. But none even begin to scratch the brain-numbingly high level this game sets the bar to. If you're going to set a goal to reach that requires thousands of hours of work that you don't enjoy, why not make it something that gets you more than a picture of your character in some gallery?
And... who cares if hackers reach the top first? Does that really matter? Nobody actually looks at the rankings. Reaching the level cap has and always will be a personal accomplishment.

Then they don't need to. In any case people would have to be silly to try and reach the maxed level before they see the updates so why are you making such a big deal out of this?
