Southperry Minecraft Server V2

The FTB server already opened at Mindcrack v7 with a brand new world map. However, with the latest version of the modpack (v8) and the additions to the world gen that it brings, to take advantage of the new gen stuff, the map will have to be re-created.

That said, I just tried the server out, but the modpack on the server still seems to be at v7, since trying to log in with Mindcrack v8 failed.

If zelkova updates to v8, new chunks generated will have blocks from v8.

Well, I think we're still waiting for Keith to update the server to the latest modpack.

But to get in once the server gets updated, first you need to DL the Feed The Beast launcher. Run that, enter your Minecraft profile on the lower right, choose the MindCrack Pack from the modlist on the left, and next to the "Download Server" button, choose the latest number (which should be 8 - the recommended version for some reason DLs v7).

I would say that if there's anything FTB-wise that seems confusing at all, I recommend watching Direwolf20's vids for explanations and stuff.

It's hard-coded into the FTB launcher to insert that opening movie, I think. I haven't found a way to skip it through the FTB launcher.

...however, if you import the modpack into MultiMC, you can play the modpack on MultiMC and the movie won't show up.

(To import, download MultiMC into the same folder that the FTB launcher is on. Run the program. Click on the dropdown next to the "New Instance" and choose "Import from FTB." Choose the folder that the FTB launcher is on and click on "Select Folder", then select the MindCrack pack and click ok. Name the instance anything you want, and run the instance.)

I just wanted to ask a quick question:

Jen was telling me that when the server goes down, fire spread prevention and no creeper damage both get reset, along with potentially other commands. Is there any way to have those set on startup? You've probably thought of it already, but I just wanted to ask.

yeah, there are plugins (which I should install). We have been using "/gamerule doFireTick false" but that doesn't help when the server goes down. As for creeper heal, that didnt help you because jen was messing with water, the game saw that the water took the place of the fire blocks so it didn't touch them.
