A good friend of mine in real life used to play Maplestory, and would stay over at my place during the summer sometimes. (This was Pre-BB)
He had two main characters at the time: A hero, and an Ice/Light archmage.
I still remember those long nights he spent, sometimes putting in OVER (Yes, more than) 24 hours at a time, either rushing back and forth across the map pressing the attack key, or worse, sitting in one place and spamming blizzard all night. (No bots involved, this was totally legit). He still wouldn't get even remotely close to 200. Or 190. 180. 170. Any of it.
You want to go back to that? Of course, I'm not criticizing you. It is a bit too easy as it stands. But I think the removal of the party play bonuses (or nerfing of) at LHC and stronghold would do wonders to remedy that.
For all those who said the game was far too easy and wanted their grinding back:
This is definitely looking to have a pre-BB feel to it.

The best that we freaking have right now is HoH, Zakum, Hilla normal and hard mode, Akyrum, Horntail, Pink Bean, Van Leon, Empress, Chaos versions of Zakum, Horntail and Pink Bean, Magnus normal and hard mode, and Root Abyss normal and hard mode! What the flying pomegranateballs!
Theres new zones coming out for leveling.

The way I see it, this is the first time it has ever been raised in 10 years. In more recent MMOs, even in the betas people would hit the level cap, and have to wait for the next raise. For the vast majority of the 10 years, it was an achievement to get to 200, for more casual players it still is. But now that it isn't such an achievement, shouldn't it be raised?

The meso cap has also been increased, to 9,999,999,999 mesos. This will apply to your inventory, storage, trades between characters, private and hired shops, Fredrick, and the Owl of Minerva.

This changes nothing. Nothing.
Back in the day, I remember %/hour training threads, and it was common to see figures like 2% per hour of training. Now in that hour at the same level you can level 5 or more times, depending on the exp buffs you use.
Even with this 200-250 grinding, I doubt we'll ever go back to the days of 2% per hour training.

Meh I dont mind the increase lvl cap. Dont understand everyone hating the rankings. Those things change. I've been thinking why the rankings havent change like ever. Game wise its not fair to have the first person to 200 have the highest rank and not make them do anything to keep it.
Anyway though I hope Nexon has a good plan for this but its looking like they don't.
Anyone feel like Nexon is doing too much though? Like adding a new series of classes which looks really unique (a lot of active skills that dont seem to reuse animations) then building hype for 5th (again) which forces them release new content(maps) as well as skills for like 30 something characters. Of which some of them may need rebalancing. Then theres the issue of Hypers and if 5th job will out them or they will just revamp/move all the hypers. Plus theres the keyboard clutter problem. Some classes only need like 5 keys bounded to skills but others need like 9,10,11 and such.
Knowing nexon doesnt seem to really think about what their content does and has a more trial and error approach this could and most likely end up really bad. Hopefully they back off the character creation and focus on job skills. Because the worse thing I think Nexon does, game wise, is stagger class revamps.

I much prefer this, over memorizing what max mesos is. I don't use it frequently enough to have it memorized and it can be a hassle to pull that number out of storage when you have mesos on you when rummaging through the FM looking to snipe some Hired Merchants. On that note, those very Hired Merchant seller errors won't be that easy to make anymore because not that many items are worth 10B compared to 2.1B. Good move all around.

How is Nexon going to explain 5th job skills in terms of the story of the 5 heroes? Luminous, for example, already uses a pineappling Black Mage spell.

Well NEXON is only beginning to explore the story. It has already been said that the Black Mage is far, far from being the strongest.
The Black Mage is only a minion, who was given power by the Overseers. Besides, after he cast his humanity loss spell he became mortal (AKA weaker).
At least he is surpassed by the other Transcendants. Who as you may recall can be sealed, even by a single person (Transcendence of Life The world tree was sealed by Damien only)! It is not as hard to imagine that the people in Maple World&Grandis can acquire some huge power.
