I like Xerneas' artwork a lot better than in the trailer. Still prefer the Y legendary, but what version I get will probably come down to other exclusives
Honestly, StreetPass is only really such a useful thing in Japan, and is useless in 95% of America and probably most other locations but I can't speak for them.
It's useful in Japan because most people walk, from what I understand, are walking around all the time, and take portable consoles with them everywhere. One of the reasons MH and PSP became so popular if I remember some quotes correctly.
But that's not the case at least in the US. Most people drive, which defeats the use of StreetPass.
It depend on where exactly you live in US, in my case I live at NYC and I usually get around 5 connections when I go to school.

That's still not really all that many from what I've heard some games expect. My friend was telling me about some game a while back where to continue in it you HAVE to have StreetPass active, and you have to run into many people otherwise you just cannot continue in the game. They have to be unique too. That is terrible for the US.
Even if places like NYC had a lot of people with 3DSes on them, it still screws anyone who is not in a major city. NYC, LA, etc. might be big, but there's still a lot of open areas that do not have a ton of people in condensed space like NYC and such.
Good news everyone, Nintendo has confirmed that Chespin is a grass type, Fennekin is a fire type and Froakie is a water type. Damn, my predictions were all wrong, I thought Fennekin was the water type.
I'm being sarcastic, basically they have confirmed they are pure grass/fire/water types... at least in the beginning, they say nothing about their evolved forms, which is the information we actually wanted to know.

I'm pretty sure that's always how it is ever since they added subtypes. They start pure and then branch off with a subtype.
Looking it up just now, the only Pokemon that doesn't apply to this rule when they get a subtype is Bulbasaur, but I'm not really sure he counts considering there were no subtypes in his original game.

What are you talking about? Dual types have existed since day one.
The only pokemon to ever gain a second type was Magnemite and Magneton, but yeah, dual types did exist in 1st Gen and Bulbasaur is the only starter that starts as a Dual Type.
And by the way, here are bigger and cleaner pictures of the Legendaries artwork: Xerneas Yveltal
I really love Xerneas's design, especially the eyes and the shape of the head, it's interesting to get a closer look and see that the coloured parts on it's antlers aren't gems or lights like I originally thought, they look more like brightly coloured roots. It's definitely my favourite of the two. Can't wait to see what they look like ingame.
For that matter, I can't wait to see a lot of pokemon in the game. Can you imagine pokemon like Groudon, Aggron, Volcarona, Arceus ect in glorious cel-shaded 3D? So excited.
Dredragon Wrote:Wasn't gengar only ghost before too?
Nope, the first ever pure ghost type was Misdreavus in Gen II I think.
Oooh, theory time!
The Light type... eh, that's been speculated and wanted forever.
The Sound type however is very interesting. We already have numerous pokemon, moves and abilities which are sound based. The only problem with this theory though is moves like Bug Buzz. it's considered a "Sound-type" move because it's blocked by the Soundproof ability, but it's real type is Bug. If a Sound type was introduced, Bug Buzz, Snarl and several other moves would feel out of place.
You know what would be cool? If they added the ability for Pokemon to have varying sub-types.
Parasect for example, it's type is Bug/Grass but Parasect sounds more appropriate to be Bug/Dark or something because of the nature of its parasite's hive mind. They could add an option where Paras/Parasect in the wild could either be Bug/Grass or Bug/Dark, also depending on the location/time of day it's caught.
:r
Also, options for rare-ass Magikarp with the secondary Dragon typing which makes it evolve at a later level but result in a Water/Dragon Gyarados. :>
