Console or Emulation?

I have an amazing deal with my PSP. You can emulate everything from GBA backwards in time. Some N64 games don't run but everything else runs smoothly. For every platform.

You can have portable emulation, a controller with TV out (the fat PSP 1000 is the only one without it), and PSP games obviously :3

I know I'm a huge PSP and emulation whore, but arguably is an awesome deal.

I had that setup once upon a time on my 1000, then I lost it.

I use....
3DS w/flash cart - GB
Hardmodded Psp - GBA
Soft Modded Wii w/ classic controller- NES/SNES/N64
Computer w/$15 ps3 controller and an HDMI cable - PSX/PS2

I try to get the most [accurate] gameplay by keeping handheld games in my hand, and console games on the tv screen. It works for me.

I have the Super 8 thing that plays NES and Super NES, but I only use it to play NES since I have the S-Video for SNES, N64, and Gamecube. I have the original Sega Megadrive model 1, as well as Playstation 2 and Wii U.

The only way to record certain games on handhelds like Sega Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket, Bandai Wonderswan, etc. You're better off with emulators, because the console needs to be hacked in order to record the footage of the games such as Sonic Triple Trouble, etc. AS for the computer consoles, you're better off with emulators, but there are MSX games on the Virtual Console if you have the Japanese Wii, or Commodore 64 if you have the NA or European Wii. AS for the consoles, if you have a capture card like I do, you can record this off of TV. NES is a piece of crap that you can't always get to work (Blinking light,) if you get the Famicom as well as the adapter that allows you to play NES games on your Famicom, then kudos to you. Otherwise you're better off using emulators.

Dolphin for Wii stuff if your PC is good enough; looks much nicer. PS2 games, just buy a PS2, they are what, 20 bucks now? Everything else that is a console, emulate it; handhelds, emulate on them/use flashcart or w/e. I use a PS3 controller on my PC.

Be very careful with that. Nintendo can brick your 3DS if they catch you using unjust methods of play.

I much prefer console, but emulation with a nice gamepad is just fine. If you end up purchasing a SNES style USB game pad, make sure to spend on a good quality one because the one I have went to pomegranate after a month or so.

Well, I like to take this retro stuff on a portable device.
And as soon as I knew there were some emulators for the Android I filled up my phone with them.

last I heard that was just a rumor, but since my psp emulation days I've learned never to update my systems....ever.

If you have a collective personality then go console. Nothing like that warm feeling of owning the physical copy of a game/music album whatever it may be, plus its not stealing. ^_^

I'd say emulate since it like free to play ^o^

Forgot about Arcade, might as well buy a game containing the compilation of the arcade games. Otherwise, use MAME.
