PC specs do not support Kaiser color change

"This item cannot be used since your PC's specs do not support Kaiser's color change. Purchase anyway?"

I get this message when attempting to purchase a color change coupon in the tempest shop. I really really want to have a customized Kaiser though...

When mechs were given free color change coupons, I got it without a message and could see the changed color before logging off, but since the relog and from then on it appeared back at normal state, so I guess that's the same deal.

I have no knowledge with PCs or graphics, so is there a way to change this by simply changing some settings or something?

Would you mind telling me how? I've been looking on google, and I've found out the gist of it but can't find the latest driver.

My driver version is 8.15.10.1825 from 6/16/09 (ouch?)
And I'm guessing the driver I need is here but I'm.. just lost right now.

I would suggest going to the site where your computer came from (e.g. Dell, Apple, HP, etc.) and then looking for the drivers for mainly your graphics card. I did this when I had an issue where Mechanics and Reflection was invisible.

My suggestion is to run the Intel Driver Update Utility, That should be able to tell you if there are any updates for your graphics card.

I got the updates it told me to, but it still won't work. Does this mean I absolutely have to get a new gfx card?

More than likely, Yes, Although I find it hard to believe that a computer that can run Win7 Doesn't have the ability to run Maplestory's features.

Me too! I honestly don't know why I wouldn't have this Pixel Shader 2.0. I looked around and it seems to be really basic.. It's not like my computer is horribly old and it runs really nice. Oh well, I guess if I need one for Maplestory, I might as well buy one because other things will definitely need one. :<

Exactly Spadow, thank you. More than likely, if your card didnt support Pixel Shader 2.0 from the start, you wont get it through updates.

Does your Windows 7 have Aero enabled? Aero's supposed to require Shader 2.0 as well, so if you have Aero enabled there's probably still hope. If not, yeah, it's new GPU time.

Seriously, it goes back to nvidia 7800 or so (since then has been 8000, 9000, 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 series, this year 700 is coming out)

It's '09. I'm the least computer savy of anyone so here's some random specs if it helps.
Says Compaq on top left of comp.

He likely doesn't have a graphics card at all. Also, that CPU is fairly low end and doesn't have integrated graphics from before integrated graphics were built onto Intel chips.

That sounds right. I assume I'll just have to get a new card? Does anyone know a cheap one or how to install them?
