I knew that horse dance was evil! I KNEW IT! P.S: IT IS a hoax, apparently nostradamus was born in 1503 and he wrote in quatriverses or some pomegranate like that

I was kind of joking when I said the above because I saw the Gangnam style video and It had 800m views. I thought it wouldn't reach 1B in time...

...BUT OMG THAT pomegranate GOT 160M VIEWS IN BARELY 2 WEEKS, with only 40 M views short, whats scary is that it might hit the 1B mark on 12/21/12...

just 30M more views... that's 10M per day, i don't think it's going to reach 1B for the 21th

Anyone else thinks it might be hacks?

It's very unlikely, I doubt youtube isn't watching that video pretty close, but that video should have got old about now, how come its still getting views so quickly ?

AS explained in that video, they supposedly watch very carefully that each view is a "valid" one. All the more reason to be cautious with its the most watched video in history.

Because people often checks at how many views it's at (I know I do).

It is very very very easy to manipulate Youtube views. However, I do feel most of them are legitimate. All you have to do is browse the video from another IP, and poof, you get another view.

It requires a new IP to qualify as a new view I believe.

Its possible the video has even gotten to the 1b mark WAYYYY before the 21, but got caught up on the Views checking system.

No. You can view a video once a day and it will count everyday.

I hope that isn't so because that could turn the 1b people watching Gangnam style a mere 100m that just happened to watch the video 10 times for 10 days.

Dood, the video has been there for 6 months or so. Although i do understand what you are saying, but considering how viral the video became i don't think it could reach those extremes.
