I disgree with your hypothesis. This only started two patches ago. Were they never testing prior to that?
They have intranet sites for internal posting of patches, why would they need to start posting in on the public intranet, which previously was only for posting live-and-ready-to-consume patches that have already been tested?

I lean more towards this being a pre-patch preventative. They likely byte swap the real CRC in when they feel confident it's safe to do so.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

Did you read the rest of my assertion? I also included the ideas that it's pre-patch prevention as well as many ways they might be utilizing a different CRC.

Also, this hasn't only been Nexon doing this. MSEA and EMS have been screwing with their patch checksums as well. This is optional IT policy that's common across the company.

Which is why I only disagreed with the one I objected to.

For the next several patches I will be checking the CRCs to see if there's some commonality or to see if the zlib block was altered in the slightest. If not, then I'll program NXPatcher to have the option of ignoring the crc.

Don't know if you guys have notice but the manual patcher on the site is up.
Haven't tried installing it to see if it still has the error since am still playing the game...

They changed the patch itself now too, so it probably also works to prepatch.

Estoy descubriendo por que los patches subidos por Nexon no funcionan. Hago la extraccion. No te preocupes.

It would appear that the CRC did not change but the file size did. I'm seeing stolen bytes starting at 0x1A10. Also, when I tried to decompress the previous patch file it failed to decompress. So Nexon is stealing bytes causing the checksum to fail and the zlib decompression to fail. That's even more annoying than the checksum using a different algorithm.

that is consistent with what I saw too, three specific locations "gained" data. Now the question is, is it the same spots and the same data each time.

I have found some consistency. looks like they targeted the \r\n in the zlib stuff. The problem is that in order for me to repair that I'd have to write my own parser for zlib to add the removed bytes because I can't possibly know where they were removed from.

Just went to download this to prepatch and the link says file not found, other laptop prepatched it earlier and it worked. Am I going to have to re-do the other laptop?

Strange, working for me now too. Dare I risk prepatch again?
