Nope. Because you see Damian standing in Root Abyss beneath Sleepywood. Look at the symbol of the doors in Damian's picture.

As in... we could definitely identify Damian as being in the Root Abyss, but we haven't quite identified the owner of the castle yet. So now we know there's a big boss called the Bloody Queen. Anything else we could fathom of Damian? What might the role of the Bloody Queen be... hmm... (other than as feedstock of items to sell/murder us...)

/edit: it's even creepier if you stare at the picture for long, trying to figure out how many faces there are... then suddenly it changes on you.

You can find the queen in the castle. Damian is probably the new commander of the Black Mage.
Root Abyss is just a map with four bosses. Kind of disappointing. But I hope Nexon continues with Alice and Damian. We have to fight Damian eventually and I'm curious what happened to him since we all thought he was dead because of the Black Mage.

Well they look like they're meant to be solo-ed. A start to a new storyline is not a bad thing tbh. Gives us something to do during the 140-160 levels... The HP looks right too (normal Hilla level I guess...?) and the mobs summoned... well... maybe I'm stretching it a bit far but having a couple of reasonable bosses and a storyline continuation is pretty decent for now.

Nexon did a good job here though, with the design. We'll see. Cheers Spadow.

This is awesome. In every way. The fact that you can get there from Sleepywood is amazing.. plus this gives a lot of information about Maple World's storyline!

Are these areas big enough? I'm hoping so!

Well, hello guys and... HOLY CRAP WHAT IS THAT THING.

It's like straight from nightmares. AND THE CLOWN DOESN'T HELP. Can't wait to see him though.

Alice: To release the seal, you must defeat the seal guardian[s].

Names of the doors are: Door to the First Seal. Door to the Second Seal. [obviously we know what the other 2 doors will be called!]

This is important because if Alice wants you to release the seals, it implies that she might be the one sealed. Then in which case... does that mean that Damien found Alice after the Black Mage's battle, and sealed her in the Root Abyss? Then many years later you fell into that hole (for some strange reason...) and found her!

/edit: aww so cute! Look at the teapot on the left door! Tells you what boss you'll be facing first huh... Clown, followed by Chicken, then Bloody Queen, then Worm/Dragon. Don't stare at Spadow's image of the Bloody Queen too long because IT CHANGES! SCARY!
/edit2: Also notice that Alice is sitting on her own throne. Clearly identifies her as something of importance - Transcendance of Life =D

As an anonymous person on OrangeMushroom pointed out, this bears exquisite resemblance to Alice in Wonderland.

Alice = Alice, except YOU are not Alice
Down the rabbit hole = you fell down =.=
Dodo = Chicken [or whatever bird was in Alice in Wonderland]

White Queen = Bloody Queen (wrong colour...)

Mind control? Some other kind of manipulation? That seems the most obvious choice. To turn him against his brother honestly seems at least a little bit predictable.

This whole new area has a bit of a darker side of Maplestory which I kinda like I think =)

You guys get too excited over new things and creepy artwork. The first thing the map reminded me of was Neo City's branch off points from Tera Forest. And we all know the rest of that story. I'll get downvoted lower than this subterranean world, but I'll wait for something more than a reskin. Or at least more details.

They're .gif files with the wrong extension tacked on. Check the image info.

Pretty sure they're pulled off some Chinese forum, because they has a GIF file size limit implemented and everyone is changing GIF extensions to JPG/PNG in order to post bigger GIF images. JPG/PNG files has a limit too but the forums is much more generous on that.
