The point is that if they're actually going to do this on a regular basis people will rejoice before people get used to them fixing bugs on a regular basis. It's called equilibrium.

That's not the point to me because I don't consider myself as gullible as those people who so easily rejoice lol. The point is that these game-breaking bugs shouldn't be occurring on such a regular basis in the first place, regardless of how fast they'd be 'fixed'.

Guess you just can't please some people, eh? I'm pretty sure people here can find something every patch to just blame Nexon for completely, even after it's fixed.

I don't think its a matter of "praising" them, or "kissing their ass". It's just the fact that people are happy that Nexon is making an effort. I believe a majority of us were here when d/c hackers would keep your character locked out for days at a time just because you wanted to Zak, or even further back when training in a map "suitable" for your level was almost impossible because of the amount of hackers/grievers EVERYWHERE.
While those situations aren't exactly comparable to item duplication/generation, Nexon has been extremely apathetic when it comes to handling the issues that certain members of the community cause, some of which that have harmed the economy and player morale/satisfaction quite significantly. While their recent action certainly doesn't make up for their lack of response in the past, it does show promise, and people are happy Nexon's actually making an effort. There's nothing wrong with that, it almost seems that some of you are looking for a reason to be upset or not enjoy the fact that people are going to get their asses rightfully handed to them.

I would say that it doesn't even matter if you're gullible or not in this case. All that matters is that they are actually doing something that makes these problems not become larger down the road, and I'd also wager that an additional benefit is that since they wouldn't have to track it down months to years later that would give them more time to look into the issue and block it while that might not happen if they handled things as slowly as they did before.

Valid points but I stand my ground. This is maybe 1% less apathy, or going out of the norm to fix an issue that we're used to seeing.
Curtiss Are those illegally generated tyrant equips truly removed from the game at this point? If not thoroughly wiped, it can be argued that this didn't really fix anything at all.

Not yet, but my argument as to why it is an adequate job for now is due to how they actually made use of the notice function to even ensure that any player logging in would know these were going to be deleted and they worked to fix the exploit and banned the people behind it first. After all, there's not much point in removing the items first unless you go straight for the source; once that's done and everyone's aware that these items= Deletion or worse they're not going to touch it. That in turn gives Nexon plenty of time to delete all of them during the Kaiser patch and gives them enough time to make sure it's done properly.

All that notice did was tell 99.9% of people who had the items or were planning to buy the items what they've known already. It may be a benefit to the other .1% who truly wouldn't know because they happen to not follow the game as closely as the rest. But even those people should know that there's got to be something fishy about an insanely powerful item selling for an insanely cheap price.

Every time one of these exploits happens, numerous people always argue that many players are simply ignorant and thus should not be banned if they purchase or use these hacked items. If anything, this notice-spamming system completely takes away that excuse and now gives Nexon more reason to actually ban people.
Even if it doesn't, at the very least it will hopefully get people to shut up and stop using the "Oh I didn't know they were illicit items so I [they] don't deserve a ban" excuse.

Would be nice if Nexon added to the notice something to the effect of "players found in possession of so and so items by so and so date WILL BE BANNED, even if they weren't the ones creating the items in the first place". You're right about the "Oh I didn't know excuse" though.

I have seen some pretty ridic excuses for not knowing rules, including 1) obvious rules 2) that are spammed in MapleTips all the time. Never was sure how sincere they were being -- it's difficult for me to weigh avarice against sheer ignorance.

They better also ban anyone who has one.
I refer to this for my opinion on the subject.

Yep, completely agree. But Nexon doesn't want to lose precious customers no matter how they might kill the game. It's laughable. There was a thread in SP about a year ago which was called something like "What would you improve about MS?" and one of the things I stated was "don't put out an item's data if said item is not supposed to be released yet, put the data out the night it's supposed to come out". Lo and behold we got the exact opposite happening here..again. Hackers are dumb too. If they've waited to start taking advantage of this exploit after kaiser comes out, maybe we wouldn't even get this nice and shiny notice, maybe the "Oh I didn't know" excuse would have .001% more ground to stand on (as if that's any at all), but now that everyone knows (like they didn't already) that these aren't 'legit', everyone holding one should be banned, plain and simple. I realize I've contradicted myself a bit about the notice but oh well.

Yeah...
Sadly, as the thread from Zelkova regarding the former GM questions has shown, if it keeps making them money they won't care at all. So long as this massive amount of hacking doesn't turn massively paying players away (And why would it? They're the ones doing this stuff!), they won't get banned. Or, if they do, they just have to ask and they get unbanned. It's pathetic, and quite absurd.

Considering you spend a plat. karma each time, and the only players who got banned were the ones that actually used the hack...you're a cool troll or you gave nexon 800K NX.

A very reputable source has informed me that he still has a Tyrant shoe. Guessing they still didn't delete everything.
