Retired First Class Sailor, arrested for espionage

I'm in the Navy so this was kind of shocking for me to read. A guy makes it to first class, gets a top secret clearance, retires, and then tries to sell secrets to another country. He even had a bunch of medals for good behavior. :f6:

I don't understand why you'd want to betray a country you've already put so much of your life into, when you know full well what the consequences would be if you were to be caught. The minds of people.... I just can't grasp them sometimes.

Yep, what that person did is treason. Espionage is punishable by life in prison.

He might not have been planning this from the beginning. Most probably since or sometime after his retirement.

I still don't get how this sorta thing isn't entrapment.
