I like the song and video, and I never understood where the meme originated.
Earlier, I was expecting a link to a boring news article about the stock market, when, to my surprize, I was greeted with music and dancin instead of a boring article 
What's so bad about getting Rick-rolled?

The intent behind a rick roll is to fool someone into believing that you have a cool video to show them.
For example, I could link a video and say that it's a video of Megan Fox doing something sexy or something, while you get Rick Astley.

So I was walking down to the 7-11 to get me a bottle of Bawls, right? While I was walking back to the car, there was this group of vry tuff looking guise slashing my tires. So, naturally, being the big tuff guy that I am, I threw my bottle of Bawls at them. I ended up getting home looking all beat up, so my mom got all pissed and sent me to my room. I didn't get it; I got in one little fight and my mom got scared! She said "You're movin' with your auntie and your uncle in Bel-Air". I whistled for a cab and when it came near the license plate said "Fresh" and it had dice in the mirror! If anything I could say that this cab was rare, but I thought "Nahh, forget it", yo homes, to Bel-Air! I pulled up to the house about seven or eight, yelled to the cabby "Yo homes, smell ya later!". I looked at my kingdom, I was finally there! To sit on my throne as the prince of Bel-Air.
