I would not be surprised because apparently, the Black Mage was once a member of the same society of Light Mages as Luminous.

Someone on Insoya also said that the Black Mage was actually Luminous' predecessor for the position of 'guardian of the light' before he was corrupted by it because of the immense power he guarded. (Apparently light can corrupt, too?)

Perhaps the Black Mage still has his humanity and the corruption was just a ruse to enact his real goal, which would be to destroy the Maple World so that there would be nothing for Darmoa to conquer. He would end up cornered by the Black Mage, who ends up destroying Darmoa, and then used Rhinne's power to restore the Maple World.

Since we're messing with the Black Mage, he can't defeat Darmoa and the Maple World is ripe for being conquered.

Of course this is too much advanced storytelling for the game, it seems.

The stories of Black Mage and Satan have few comparisons, especially not the one you just used. Not trying to start anything on that subject, just saying.

Also, I thought Magnus was loyal to Darumoa, and turned on the Black Mages generals, thus turning on the Black Mage himself after he got sealed, if that's the case, I doubt Darumoa had too much to do with the Black Mage. Either way, I'm pretty sure the Black Mage was corrupted by power it's self and not some other being. I wouldn't even be surprised to find that the Black Mage and Darumoa are or will become enemies of one another, it's not uncommon for 2 great evils to be unable to see eye to eye, just like the Resistance and Cygnus weren't exactly in one another's favor. I obviously don't know the full story though, so who knows.

I do enjoy the fact that the story feels much deeper than it used to. I wish more of the content that came out, actually built up the main story more in some way instead of getting all these, rather meaningless, Theme Dungeons.
Also, Zero, Megaman X, idc. If it looks anything like a Megaman series character I'm changing out all my Str for Luk >_<.

Still, must be a shame, I was hoping for Orca to be a playable class (maybe in the future), though story-wise it is kind of awkward when she faces the Demon Slayer, haha.

Well, having a second General get betrayed and end up joining the Resistance is a bit redundant.....

And a bit of a stretch considering this General is the reason why the Resistance exists to begin with.

Eh, but there's still a possibility that she is the Automation/Automata. The Resistance would have less hangups about experimenting on their former sworn enemy.

I'm really hoping for Automata to be a slick class. They've got a high bar to hit with this class coming after Luminous, Kaiser, and AB. How could they possibly follow that act?

Those classes didn't really set the bar higher, if that's what you're implying. The only really cool class was Luminous. Kaiser and Angelic Burster were just over powered snorefests.

This is coming from a guy who massively prefers warriors and pirates to mages.

Yeah, Angelic Burster and Kaiser were kind of a let down. They're both hilariously overpowered (or at least were pre-nerf) and didn't look particularly exciting to play. Luminous seems really cool, I just don't like the way all of his skills hit so many times. It looks weird when the screen is just covered in numbers. I'd still play Luminous over either of the other two Tempest classes though.

I'm really hoping Automaton is cool. The double flash jump + start flying sounds awesome, I'm really excited to see how it turns out when it hits kMST. I'm gonna be really sad if it ends up as slow and bulky as Mechanic.

I meant in terms of power level. From the skill descriptions Automata seems like a pretty interesting class with some nice movement abilities, I just hope the power level isn't kitten-level.

I agree. It's sad that Luminous is practically eclipsed simply because Kaiser and AB do more damage as the Light/Dark system is really interesting and he looks cooler (Could do with a little less mobbing ability though). I'm hoping this Automata is going to be slick, every Thief class needs to be that at least!

i'm just hoping it comes out with hyper skills and everything from the get-go, instead of having a HYPER SKILL REVAMP!!!1! later on for three months just to give it the hyper skills

feeling this class will have jett's double jump feature, which is pretty cool but i can't use ._. anyways, still mildly excited to see what happens, the class shows promise.

That depends on how bowled over are you by kittens. In my dictionary kitten level basically translates to "Stunned by the cute".

Okay, but seriously I think this is going to be yet another high DPS if super funded class like you know...the previous Thief classes. I should probably make a male one just so that I have some gear to give but I'll wait to see the looks first.
