Thank You Mr. Basil

Now watch as Nexon simply ignores it.

....or stops endorsing basil.

Mhm, did not know that.

If it's a low, one time payment...It would be 100x better than having nothing at all. As long as you don't have to buy it for every character.

This is the first time I've seen him post about something mildly important since, well, ever.

The guy is like Bigfoot.

Nexon's business model is working, why would they change it?

So I don't have to hear this dumb argument ever again.

zantgx Wrote:Nexon's business model is working, why would they change it?

more or less its working in their eyes, but if there's a median point where both sides can agree on a good outcome that benefits both sides, why not take it. there is a point where people don't bother with scissors anymore, unless a high profile item is in a trade/sale.

basically, nexon needs to find the price/demand curve point where most profit is made, and with the current system, the demand is pretty miniscule.

Actually it's not. Or did you not see their report showing revenue dropping significantly in both Korea and America?

It is?

Oh look, Nexon is cutting expenses to maintain profitiability. Why...that's the opposite of expansion!

Nexon is pretty much the first major F2P company...This always happens to industry dinosaurs, takes them the longest to finally bend into new trends once everyone else catches up. They tend to bounce back once they give in though.

Isn't that right Blockbuster?

...

...Blockbuster?

I really hope this makes an impact or some sort of change i mean even if lower tier items like normal z-helms things like that were non restricted it'd be so much better.

Nexon would probably do both. Because either way, in the end of it all.

They still buy SoKs.

Jesus Christ that was presented so poorly. Personally if I were Nexon, I would not be able to take this seriously at all, despite the writer.

While he's obviously correct about their eagerness to charge for EVERYTHING being detrimental to their game, it's just the tip of the iceberg.

Jesus some of you need to get off your high horse. Who cares how it was written. It is good enough to understand.

In the real world, you have to present yourself in an adult way for your opinion to be taken seriously. This was satirical and whiny. It's an adult thing, you'll learn soon.

I don't think Mr. Basil was going for a professional look if he was trying to include Timmy in his post. Or whatever the hell his/her name was.

He was trying to be satirical, as I've said. He's trying to intimidate nexon and make them look asinine, it's going to backfire on him. There are plenty of legitimate ways he could have raised this concern to the company that would have gotten a legitimate response. Posting a thread to appease the 15 year old's and get their input will just appear as a cheap aesthetic to get a point across.

Mr. Basil's post is not much different from editorials I've seen on major media websites. His goal was to get awareness on a major issue he sees in the game. I feel like he accomplished that regardless of his writing style. Now you and many others I've seen on this website seem to ignore that because you are too blinded by your hate of basil.

You honestly think Nexon cares about how you present an issue? Go to the nexon forums. I've seen plenty of poorly written complaints that get solved simply because there was a huge outcry. Now I don't think Nexon will change anything in regards to this particular issue but that doesn't change the fact that Nexon and their employees could probably careless on how you present your concern as long as its understandable.

I think that sums up my point real well. Get off your highhorse. This website has become nothing more than a circlejerk of psuedo intellectuals

There was nothing intellectual, pseudo or otherwise, in that, it was pure condescension.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

with how ADHD most maplers are, especially with posts THAT LONG! (being serious about that) i think it was the only way he could have gotten the most attention.

Right.... because all other eloquently (or at least more "maturely," as you would think) petitions to Nexon have actually made an impact. Ahaha, don't make me laugh.
