Seems odd that the game is open only 90 minutes into this maintenance... Must be accidental.

I don't think it is. They updated the notice on the website to this:
"We will be performing a scheduled server maintenance beginning on November 7, 2012. It will last approximately 2 hours.

I am on and playing for 20 minutes now. It was up at 10:27 EST. It just struck me as odd that it would finish so early. I am not gonna complain.

They ninja-edited the notice at some point. I checked server status at 10am est and noticed a couple of servers coming up so I got ready to pop on. I guess this is their game plan now instead of extending maintenances?

If it's extended before it even starts it isn't an extension.
