US Election Discussion
Eliseo Wrote:The economist article talks as if every single mexican grew their own pot to sell to the US, however it does says few of us actually smokes it.

And it is also forgetting the fact that at least 40% doesn't even comes from Mexico, but more to the south.

I'm happy Obama won. PLEASE, make the goverment-religion relationship the U.S. has go away.

Hm, I got more the impression that Mexican cartels simply exported most of its marijuana to the US. I could be wrong though :>

Good day for weed and gayness.

Sadly, Oregon is not looking like it's going to lift the illegal status on Marijuana. It's been on the ballot consistently for 20 or so years. I was hoping this time. Ah well.

Washington will still love me.

On a serious note, I wonder what will happen to the Republican party as a result of this defeat.

I'm hoping that they'll go through some kind of reorganization and bring themselves up to speed with modern times rather than allow themselves to drag behind, weighed down by outdated social issues. But then again, dat solid south for this ridiculous conservatism.

Hopes and dreams.

The Republican party has seemed to me like it's been on the verge of schism for years. Tea Party and all. They've proved me wrong thus far.

It's frustrating to me, since there are a number of issues I agree with the Republican party on.

Just not Gay marriage, abortion, immigration, military spending, oil spending, and apparently rape.

Glad Mourdock and co weren't reelected.

I almost voted for Jill Stien. Almost.

I think it's cool that Obama won all the battleground states.

Serious inquiry: How many times has that happened?

I thought North Carolina was considered a swing state? I might be wrong. :f6:

Okay, so as the election celebration starts, I just wanted to know this from everyone who cares:

do you think Puerto Rico will become the 51st state, become independent, or remain a territory?

I was just looking off what CNN took as a battleground state. NC was quite close though.

Anyway I'm still kind of bummed about the whole Republicans having the Congress lead thing. It doesn't really change much from the last 4 years.

Even though I'm military, and Obama isn't a big fan of it, I still think he's much much better for the country as a whole.

Woke up to good news. Yay.

America breathes a great sigh of relief as Obama is reelected. I just wish he made a greater margin in the popular vote.

Hopefully this will force House Republicans to some sort of compromise and a working relationship between both parties will be forged. (I can dream can't I?)
