Guild Wars 2
Ha ha too easy. I'm lucky I had 3 other level 80s in my party. I did like, crap damage. And fell like 6 times. On a non-jump quest event.

So guys I found a weapon skin.
 Grinning Gourd Rifle
I think I only opened like 3 chests with keys I got from drops and personal story.

Got all the halloween achievements, yay.

Same here. All the Halloween achievements. Was hoping for a reward for doing it, oh well.

I honestly didn't think I'd be able to. Stupid Hurricane killed my power.

One time world event in November@@@.

Seems like they're trying to plan one big thing per month now. Interesting.

  • Beta version of PvP map for testing
  • Weekend long event that permanently changes world in some places
  • Noted to be a "smaller" map
  • New type of dungeon that gets harder the further you go through
  • New rewards that are deep within said dungeon
  • The dungeon is going to be unlocked through a weekend-long event that will lead up to the opening
  • Plans to add "a ton" of content for level 80 characters
  • Plans to add to the personal story

But titles don't even give a tiny buff >_>. Plus, you don't need to complete everything to get it. The Clock Tower achievement doesn't factor into the overall achievements at all in any way, and the Pumpkin Carver one doesn't either, but it has its own title.

More PvE already is nice. Not to be rude but I'm sick of Risen, and having no Hearts in the Orr area is kind of a let down. The events are nice but there's not nearly enough in there, and the hearts were cool.

I'm honestly extremely surprised they are already doing a "Change the world" event. That's something you usually see a year+ down the road. I wonder if it's going to be a new elder dragon awakening, or just one of the others kicking our asses (Rooting for Kralkatorrik honestly, Branded monsters look awesome).

Edit: Their preview page already has a spot for December 2012 too...Wow.

Titles in guild wars 2 is a big deal though, just as it was in guild wars 1.
People enjoy collecting gear, titles, miniatures and legendary items.
Tongue

It's the reason as to why GWAMM and 50/50 HoM were such a big deal to some people.

Also, heritage armor get, finally got all the heritage armor pieces, or rather i will have it in a few days. Yay.

I don't give a crap about achievements that give nothing and I never will =P.

Achievements were a huge deal in GW1 because they DID give something. They gave the world Blessing of the Gods, once they changed how you could obtain that. Blessing could turn bad Hard Mode runs good pretty easily, and was a great thing to have.

Lots of people (me included) are completionists and just try to collect everything for the sake of collecting everything. Doesn't need to give me a huge buff to make me feel like I accomplished something.

I'm not saying that there aren't people who don't do that. I complete maps because I find it fun myself. My point is that there's a HUGE benefit to everyone if people do achievements, regardless of your purpose. There are people who did achievements just for the Blessing to help in runs. Everyone who got an achievement, regardless of reason, WAS rewarded. Titles here are just a status symbol, which is slightly a disappointment when they were beneficial in game as well as personally.

Quote:Something is stirring in the Sea of Sorrows – and we want to make sure that you are not missing out, so here is a schedule (without spoilers) for you, so you can plan ahead:
  • On Friday November 16th at noon PST (20:00 GMT) the weekend will kick off with an Event in Lion’s Arch that you don’t want to miss. This will trigger events in other parts of Tyria as well.
  • On Saturday November 17th at noon PST (20:00 GMT), another phase will kick in.

Each phase is triggered by a special event, but you will be able to enjoy additional content afterwards even if you cannot make the kick-off time. There is one exception:
The event will culminate in a big Finale on Sunday November 18, make sure you will not miss it. This will be a one time only event chain that will run multiple hours, and it will kick off at noon PST (20:00 GMT). Again, this will only run once, so make sure you will be there!
There will be plenty of content available to enjoy that will remain permanently in the world as a result of the outcome of this event on Sunday.

We will give you more details once we get closer to the event, but wanted to give you an early heads up so you can plan accordingly.
GOOD THING I DON'T HAVE FRIDAY CLASSES.

GOOD THING MY TIMEZONE IS GMT+1 / CET. Though maybe I should make sure I fully explore the Bloodtide Coast and Sparkfly Fen before then.

So after replaying Caledon on a Sylvari, I ran into a realization...

On the Sea of Sorrows, is Tengu. There's entrances to the Sea of Sorrows from Caledon, Sparkfly and Lion's Arch, all guarded by Tengu (except the one by Sparkfly, iirc, which is just a bunch of rocks in the way).
After listening to some NPCs, apparently between Factions and GW2, they were banished from Cantha and migrated to Lion's Arch, then walled themselves off with giant walls on all sides, which can be seen in Lion's Arch and Caledon as well.

This actually excites me about this update more, because I liked the Tengu.

I definitely expect to see Tengu in the Lost Shores, but I think the race and their city/area (the Dominion of Winds) to be fully added in the first expansion (playable with city and starter zone, etc.). We'll probably see more of the great wall though, which is always a nice sight.
