Mother came back from Seoul. I greet her at the door and the first thing she says to me is, "Look at my eyes!"
"Err...hello to you too, Mother. What's wrong with your eyes?"
"Eyelid cosmetic surgery!"
"WHAT!? Geez. Let's just get the luggage in."

"Oh, neat! My Fossil watch doesn't tick anymore. This watch will do. The cubic zirconia design is kinda cute."
"By the way, those are real diamonds on there."

"Wear it only for special occasions."
"But it'd be a waste to only wear it so rarely..."

The guilt. QQ. Why can I can never handle gifts well? I feel embarrassed I can't personally accept her gift with two hands.

Well, to add, I have yet to crack down towards my last 3 projects.
One revision, One powerpoint, and one massively big Excel workbook...Fun.

This girl messaged me on Facebook asking me how exam study was going and telling me about how much she misses me, her 'dear friend'. We've only spoken once. Odd indeed.

Went to orientation for my temp job yesterday (as I was running a fever, meh).
I'll be working 36 hours next week and 32 the following, along with school. It'll be nice to have some income coming in, and between work and school, hopefully the time goes by pretty fast. I miss home. Dorm life isn't really my thing...especially when I hear something like this on a regular basis outside my door:

Person 1: "I'm just a drunk girl, but I'm ready to party!"
Person 2: "You look like a slut!"

Classes cancelled after 1:40 today n______n

Not sure if happy because no classes or scared because hurricane

Basically:

got outa class today and tomorrow it's supposed to snow up here tonight as well.

Oh well more time to stall studying for chem.

Registered for Spring semester classes today, and I was actually able to get all of the classes I needed!

Cornell's always been a plantain when cancelling classes, but that doesn't stop two of my professors being unable to get back to Ithaca due to the weather .

Nailed so much work yesterday and today. I feel GREAT.

Today is going well so far. Still need to knock out 5 papers, 2 Power points, and 6 major tests (3 midterms, 3 finals).

Worked, Schooled, yea that's it.

Also been wanting to learn Japanese (reading and writing) lately. I can pick up some Japanese words out there because they are very similar if not exactly the same as its Korean counterpart.

kibun - feeling, atmosphere, mood, or health in Japanese and Korean
gakko - school in Japanese / hakk yo - school in Korean

Maybe if I have more free time. With Korean such a simplified version of Chinese, I can't connect anything with Kanji.
Makes me jealous that my parents can read Chinese characters now (though my dad said he rage quit it sometime in his youth).

They both have their roots in Chinese, whereas Chinese has similarities to Japanese and the same in Korean. I like to think that Chinese is the latin of Asia, but ya'know not dead and all.

There was an open position that I was really interested in. It went perfectly with what I was already doing.
I have a lot of experience in it, I have the necessary contacts for what the job entails. I know about the necessary schedules and when they meet up. Annndd...

I lost in the running
I didn't get it because I was shadowing (basically overseeing someone) someone else's position. The guy that ran for it also shadowed for someone else, but the job ended.
He never went to a single one of their meetings, doesn't talk to them often, and can be very lazy and stuck up sometimes.

What the hell? I'm PERFECT for this job and I was turned down simply because I was a shadow? Isn't the point of me shadowing to help me get a position later on?

And basically what is supposed to happen is there's supposed to be an election and everyone votes for who can/should hold the position. BUT NO! HE WAS APPOINTED ON THE SPOT BY 1 PERSON (NOT THE PRESIDENT) WITH NO ONE ELSE SAYING HE SHOULD OR SHOULDN'T.

I. AM. PISSED!

I could kill the 3rd Clarinet section in a heartbeat right now. They're not taking anything seriously. I seriously don't want to cut anyone, since I have the power to.... Rawr.

Today was a pretty disastrous day. I got two calls for a job interview yesterday but I didn't realize that they were both from the same company that said I could walk in for an interview any time and NOT the one that wanted me to go for an interview today at 9:30 am. To make things worse, they were both at about the same area and when I called the mobile number just to check if they were at the right place I got Interviewer A, who of course said that I was (I was just beside their office).

As I was doing the aptitude exam I got a call from the guy that was going to interview me so we re-scheduled to tomorrow. Hoo boy.
