How do you have fun on Maplestory these days?

I feel like the game has nothing left to offer. It peaked for me at '08. That's when I had the most fun doing bosses such as 2-3 party Zak runs and 30man HT runs. Whenever I log in I immediately tab out because my interest wanes by the time I've inputted my pin. There's nothing left for me to do. My character is at it's peak and I don't think I can be bothered to play another class. I can't even find the energy to sell my gear even if it will net me a few thousands. I guess I'll probably just let my account rot until I magically feel like logging in again. Bossing got boring quick after the 1st week. Do I really want to spend an hour killing empress each day all alone and secluded? Like it's so dull; I wish the game had more excitement to it.

Sounds lonesome. Do you have any IRL friends that play with you?

As for me, I have fun by crafting (And hopefully saying "That's one less item I'm obliged to cube!"), playing at being a merchant, doing the quests I haven't finished and randomly going on monster hunts. I do less of the latter now as drop rates suck like vacuum cleaners- oh wait.

By sitting in Ch11 FM1, CH1 Leafre, or CH11 Leafre and afking there. I guess also empressing every other day too.

Play it only twice (or 4-6 times) a month. That's how I roll.

I've just started playing events, and occasionally new characters, just because I enjoyed the plot.

I don't have much of a reason to play anymore, I don't know anyone.

Recently someone in the guild brought up that we need to have guild events, so I'm kinda collaborating with him on what we should do/how it should be done.

Lately all I've been doing is maxing Ambition daily. Haven't had much time for anything else.

My guild and BL is really inactive these days so MS is kinda boring.

PvP was a huge factor but now it's gone (the old one).

Nowadays it's just sitting in FM and occasionally bossing.

I still have a few friends that play, and so whenever we are free, we try and help one of them get skillbooks from killing Zak and then chatting how much Nexon sucks. Overall, much more of the fun is talking on Skype rather than Maple, but other than that, I just buy and sell books all day and night long.

Sadly, I would say that this is a fact and that it's difficult to enjoy Maple Story without friends (I have much less funding by choice but otherwise I'm in the exact same boat). I think that is why I decide to earn my equips the hard way instead of spending money on cubing as I enjoy seeing my damage go up slowly by having actual progression instead of just paying money for it.

But funding aside, I think I log in each day because it's a hopeful new page, improving all the time and carving out another part of history in my long line of characters. I thought my Bowmaster didn't have much hope any more after seeing how much better a Phantom would be for my tastes but seeing the Hyper Skill changes made me change my mind. Maple Story also used to be less filled with story (Had to hunt down the bits with my Bowmaster) and while it's still lacking in most parts I can actually see connections being made now which gives me hope that there will be more fun content to be had.

I hit your wall back in 2011. What I've learned about maplestory, that no player will admit, is the thrill of maplestory is upgrading. That's it. That's their secret. Everyone wants to be strong enough to not be a weight for their friends, or even support their friends. Or maybe they want to be self-sufficient to maximize profit. Everyones reason is different, a lot will claim "oh, it's fun because of friends!". It's a distraction to what you're really doing, upgrading so you can do this, or that, or the other.

Maplestory has nothing to offer you once you can solo bosses, absolutely nothing. Eventually all you can do is go afk to wait for boss CD's to pass, or waiting for your once active friends to pop in. The game just loses it's luster. Not to even mention the constant class hopping, they function off you attempting to upgrade that new class until your satisfied. By the time you manage it, they nerf it and release a new one.

I actually not care all that much about upgrading gear, so that probably keeps it fun for me. I find enjoyment in leveling/getting new skills than about just getting stronger, although I still attempt to get equipment for each slot; just not going crazy on getting these 9-15% stat potential gear.

I just log in when I'm not busy, log on to my main, then do events once to see how good they are, then either kill stuff or do quests. Kinda bored with maple now though sicne everything is "you must have NX or billions of mesos to do this event"

I thought the PvP was unplayable or was it just the euro-lag? Haven't tried new one, because the times it's open suck.
