SAO Ep 14 - Blink and you'll miss it! The logout list contains a lot of familiar names (mixed in with a few random ones); Sasha, Ginn and Mina are from "Morning Dew Girl" (the latter two are the kids), so are Yulier and Thinker. Then we have Grimlock and Schmitt ("Murder Case in the Area"), Nishida (fisherman dude that Kirito helped) Silica, Lizbeth, Klein, Agil...
Oh? What's this?
Spoiler
Laughing Coffin lives!!
This one really IS blink and you'll miss it. The list happens to scroll really quickly over this portion, so you won't spot it if you weren't paying attention. Me? I just happened to catch a glimpse of "Johnny Black", so I rewound the video to have closer look.
SAO 14
Dat ending... "As...uuun...a." Poor Kirito. Was disappointed by the fight scene. You'd think for the last fight they'd at least follow the light novel in greater detail.
Totally forgot Little Busters finally aired. Will watch tomorrow!
Code Breaker
Holy crap, SO MANY GOOD OSTS THIS SEASON. Looks pretty interesting as a show, too.
Magi
Another show I was really really really looking forward to. Hopefully this will be successful enough to eventually become a long runner like one of the big 3, or at least as popular as Fairy Tail is.

Btoom 1 - Something about this just didn't sit well. ANN sums it up better than I can, even if it's with a more hate than I actually felt for the episode. Definitely the season's first solid dud I've watched.
Spoiler
There's a taste of Gantz in this survival-action series, and that is not a good thing. Gantz was trash in the worst sense of the term: dumb, gory, exploitative; the kind of trash that isn't gonzo fun but rather leaves you feeling dirty and totally disinclined to continue. All of which is true of BTOOOM!. Just without Gantzs visual panache, camp humor, orsci-fi weirdness. Woo hoo. Begin with a self-deluded, mother-abusing, unemployed loser. His name is Ryota. The only place where he's worth anything is in the virtual world of a combat game called BTOOM, where he's an ace at blowing fake people up. And then one day he wakes up on a deserted island. He has no memory of how he got there, and only a day's worth of food and eight bombs to keep him company. He's attacked by an obviously insane man also armed with bombs, during which time he realizes to his horror that he's now trapped in an all-too-real version of his favorite game.
Like Gantz, it isn't BTOOOMs premise that kills itthough it is low-brow, high-concept crud of the first orderor its nasty violence and gratuitous sexuality (both of which it has in considerably less volume), but rather its utter contempt for its characters. It clearly has no respect or sympathy for Ryota, presenting him as a one-dimensional pile of deluded selfishness. And it isn't any kinder to the rest of humanity.Ryota's mom is nagging zombie, his game-friends are insensitive boors, and the only guy he meets on the island is a brain-dead psychopath. pisode two promises a damaged high-school girl and what look like sweaty otaku rapists. It's the kind of sneering unpleasantness that anime series often try to pawn off as realism but that mostly makes you wonder if the writers actually know any real people. If you must watch people on an island killing each other off, watch Battle Royale. It's crueler, smarter, and infinitely more nuanced. And superior as action to boot. It's hard to care about a showdown when you want everyone to die.
SAO 14- For some reason, I was under the impression this was the last episode. Would've been a great ending too. Some nice twisting, potential bad end, a little (but not an awful) dose of deus ex and a lightly bitter, mostly sweet close. What else is there to do for 11 episodes?
Code Breaker 1: Aww, that dog is so derpy! So cute! Look at his little legs fluttering around. All dogs should be animated like this, it adds so much spice to a show filled with such boringly designed chara.... OH MY GOD. GANG MEMBERS WAT R U DOING? STAHP! GANG MEMBERS, STAHP! THEY KILLED HIM. THEY KILLED THE CUTEST THING I'VE SEEN SINCE THAT CORGI PUPPY I SAW ON REDDIT ON THURSDAY. THEY WEREN'T EVEN THAT DISCRETE ABOUT IT, THEY JUST BEAT THE pomegranate OUT OF IT THEN THE GODDAMN "PROTAGONIST" COMES AND OVER AND STRAIGHT UP STRANGLES LITTLE CAPTAIN DERPY. HOW COULD THEY? HOW DARE THEY?!?! I'm rage quitting this show. Too much to handle.
But the actual content of this show justifies some spoilers
Because they totally Ga-Rei'd it and I looooove it. Sure seemed like this show was going to be some sort of Full Metal Panic done even worse with Mister Hard-Ass and Miss Totally-Replaceable-Stock-Female-Protagonist having adventures but mostly having high school drama. "Just like always, I'll eliminate her" and I'm sitting there thinking, "fat chance, that chick's either about to prove herself useful, discover her own bullpomegranate powers, or be kept around as eye candy for some even stupider reason." They even made her an aikido expert, that was well-played. Hand to face... "Burn." Bullpomegranate happens in 3... 2... she bursts into flame. Not in the ED, not in the preview, WHAT'S IT GOING TO BE?
...
But no, I imagine she's alive and this show is the trite piece of forgettable blandness with its pretty magic boys and utterly unoriginal characters it seems to be. I want to be wrong. I want so desperately to be wrong. But they killed Inu. They killed him in cold-blood. Unforgivable.
RIP Inu. XX/XX/2012 Never forget!
Jojo 1 -
This is the best show this season. And to hell with anyone who doesn't enjoy it with gg trollsubs. Totally lost my pomegranate when Roundabout started playing as the ED. That song pineappleing rocks.
Although the majority of the players were set free from SAO, around 300 players are stuck and have not been able to log out. ***Hidden content cannot be quoted.***
Spoiler
So 2 months pass and they are still stuck, until a mysterious screen shot from another game appears.
That was an excellent job of enlightening me without revealing anything excessive. Thank you, sir.
Code:Breaker 1
Completely in love with the ending song. Thought the opening song was by Gackt for a minute though. Not too fond of Sakurakouji's character but maybe I'll grow to like her. Ogami's eyes are so mesmerizing...
Sukitte Ii na yo 1
I keep thinking this is gonna be another Boys Over Flowers (or Hana Yori Dango). I thought the male protagonist would be cold, but it's nice to see he's actually a kind-hearted character.
Little Busters! 1
Love the ending song and opening song so much! Key never disappoints. Hoping they delve into the parents' deaths a bit more to give more insight to his past.
Ixion Saga DT 1:
Totally lost my pomegranate several times. Goofy and hilarious. Erectile Dysfunction will never fail to be humorous.
Shin Sekai Yori 2:
That narrator is the MC looking back on the past, yes?
Eureka AO OVA 1:
For all the pomegranate I've seen on the internet, all the animes and blatant fanservice I've put up with... having Ao crossdress as his mother kinda creeped me out. Funny OVA but... creeps.
Wooser no Sono Higurashi 1: There are never enough fun short series.
Sword Art Online 14: wat
Little Busters! 1: This feels very different from Clannad. Some people say it's the best Key novel. We'll see. I like it for now.
Teekyuu 1: Whoah! They're talking at Tatami Galaxy-speed.
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure 1: I haven't read or seen anything from Jojo so I still don't quite get what it is about. I like it, though.
Magi 1: Great. Crunchyroll actually picked this up as I wished, but it's FOUR DAY LATECAST. Well, there are 3 groups subbing it so no problem for now.
Ixion Saga DT 1: Seems like it will be a fun ride.
Code:Breaker 1: What the hell is going on?
Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo 1: I like the first episode. Cool style and nice characters. JC Staff is doing three 2-cour series this season. I hope the quality doesn't go down.
Also, how can A-1 Pictures manage to do 4 long running series (counting Magi, if it becomes one), two 2-cour shows, and about 3 movies at the same time?
Just when I thought the best girl had already appeared a few days ago, a challenger appears. Hyper chick is fine too, but, HOLY pomegranate, Mashiro is SO FUCKING CUTE, everything about her personality seems to be tailor-made to be perfect for my taste.

At first, I thought Misaki was voiced by Asumi Kana, but Takamori Natsumi has a surprisingly wide range, not someone I've heard very often. Nanami's voice actor seems to be quite good too, this appears to be her second character. Thought it was really well done how they snuck her accent around. Mashiro's diction is a bit too staggered for me, but holy shi-t moeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I have to say this is one of the best first episodes this season.
Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun 02: A comedy that genuinely makes me laugh. I'm quite enjoying this. The vomiting scene was too funny though. Almost made me spit something out.
Code Breaker 01: I recall reading the first three or four chapters, and putting it down because it felt too shoujo-esque, with a useless girl chasing some bishounen with superpowers. I really wish he just killed her there like the dog...
Magi 01: Holy fu-ck. I don't think I have ever seen a more useless main character in my entire pineappleing life. I don't even pineappleing understand how you can be so useless. The fact that he wants to "clear a dungeon" and has the equivalent usefulness of a rock- no, less, because you can use a rock as a blunt weapon, is just absolutely astounding. Also, the animation is pomegranate.
Little Busters! 01: JC Staff really shines through on their first episodes, but I hope this doesn't derp too hard. Really felt like I was reading a VN though, which was quaint.
Onii-chan Dakedo Ai Sae Areba Kankeinai yo ne! 01: Is he a eunuch or something? The cast overall seems interesting, but obviously, this will be rough to watch since it's a brother ignoring his kawaii imouto's love T______________T
Shinsekai Yori 02: So, the adults don't want to stir pomegranate up, you have horribly mutated rats that can speak, and next episode they're going to find the evidence?
To Love-ru Darkness 01: Oh Rito, you stupid stupid boy... Might just wait for BDs on this one...

Judging by the quality of Magi, they don't seem to be committing a lot to it... JC Staff is going to crash and burn like every time they have a show longer than 1(2) episodes...
I'm still waiting on Girls und Panzer, so I can see a pink M3 Lee get WRECKED, etc.
I've heard that they botched the first ep of Magi compared to the manga. They did not portray them as "driven by greed" in the animation, so people are worried that the all important character development will not happen since there is not as much to develop on.
As for oniichan dakedo...big spoilers ahead
Spoiler
HAHA WE TROLL YOU, HE ISN'T REALLY HER BROTHER. He knows and she doesn't. The reason he is being a ball-less loser is because he promised her parents that "he would protect her", and he considers himself to be a threat to her too so he just decided to distance himself from her altogether...which begs the question, how the hell is he protecting her when he is nowhere near her? dohoho.
Also, to fund their schooling and rent, he writes incest doujinshi
Sword Art Online 14 - Very, very slightly disappointed in how the first arc was done in the anime, but I still absolutely love it overall. Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo 1 - Started out a bit different from the manga. Wish I got more of it scanlated before I had to stop, wasn't aware of that classmate love interest there. Great start though, definitely my favorite first ep so far. Chuunibyou demo Koi ga pomegranateai! 1 - Rikka is ridiculously moe. Little Busters 1 - I've been playing the LN, but no matter how many animes I watch, I'm always annoyed by a male main character having a female seiyuu. Onii-chan dakedo Ai Sae Areba Kankeinai yo ne 1 - Don't think this series will translate very well into an anime. To Love-Ru Darkness 1 - Come on, censoring TLRD?! They even censored the AT-X airing of it. Probably going to wait on the BDs for this show, but know I'll enjoy it regardless. Bakuman 3 1 - Aww yeah Bakuman. Kokoro Connect 3-11 - Mostly caught up with this last weekend, and I got attached to the series (Inaba is too awesome), even though I know season 2 will never come. ;_;
Robotics;Notes, Medaka Box 2, and Seitokai no Ichizon 2 this week! Aww yeah.
Also, wtp. SHAFT announces Nekomonogatari, even gives it an air date while Kizumonogatari gets no news. ;_;

Dude has superpowers. Dude kills the scum of society by burning them to ashes.

He can't kill her. Viewers will find out why soon enough.
Hanabira.Kage Wrote:He can't kill her. Viewers will find out why soon enough.
I figured that's what would happen, to be honest; based on his "evil for an evil" quote. They will probably use the "pure-heart" tripe as an excuse, lol.

tonari kaibutsu 1-2
Mutual love confessions and a kiss in the space of 2 episodes? The pineapple is happening
chuu2koi 2
dropped; I have no idea how anyone thinks this is cute or remotely good; only decent girl is hairclip, the rest are quite literally retarded. EVEN RIKKA'S OLDER SISTER IS LIKE HER. Maybe Rikka is so stupid because of brain damage, from getting hit with that huge ladel so much.

Alright guys, question of the week:
Who's trying harder? Psycho-Pass to be dark and edgy, or K to be cool and stylish? PLACE BETS NOW.
Psycho-Pass 1:
It's nothing that hasn't been done before, but so was Madoka for the first few episodes. Still a well-executed dystopian crime episode. I liked it. The only acceptable name for Ko from here on out will be "Psyche Spiegel". That is all.
Tempest 2:
It's weird hearing Shakespeare.
K 2:
I can't decide if the Neko-centric ED means she's going to be a major character, or if she's just the primary sex-appeal so they over-feature her. Or both. And the Black Dog blinking was about the funniest thing I've seen today.
Robotics;Notes 1:
Another winner. I want to make fun of the idea that a mecha show could inspire a global robotics boom, but the Japanese already went and built that huge-ass Gundam replica, so... plausible? I really hope that girl at the end implies time travel. Oh god, let there be time travel.
