Mining skill not working?

I keep searching for an idea on how to fix this issue and can't find one. I know how to mine and have used it many times before. (Mining is rank 8 now) Just as of the last few days it simply will NOT work. I hit the "harvest" button and I see a quick animation flash and then it does nothing. I've tried many, many times and it simply will not work. This is getting irritating now.

Any thoughts?

Why would I have to relearn it if I'm level 8? Like I want to start over again.

Relearning doesn't take all that long if you grind Insight and Diligence daily like I do. Two, three days max and you're at level 10. That said, I doubt the glitch has got anything to do with relearning or not.

Herb gathering doesn't work for me unless I attack first. Weird? Yes. If I go up to a plant and hit the harvest button, 80% of the time, the animation will proceed to completion but nothing will happen at the end and I'll have to try again. If I Dragon Thrust 2 or 3 times, harvesting goes up to maybe 90% - 95% success rate. I don't know why this happens, I wish they would fix it.

So.....weird update. I swapped from Hubby's desktop to my laptop and it works. Now that's strange.

Sometimes it happens to me when i hold down the harvest key for too long.

It is probably an issue with lag. Some computers handle MS better than others.

Weird thing is that my husband's computer handles MS way better than mine. His desktop is much more powerful than my laptop. My laptop lags a lot and his doesn't lag at all, yet the mining problem happens on his.

Maybe it varies between computers.

I have issues with mining, but they come and go on this one computer. My guess was that it's something like mount lag where some login sessions you will have issues while other login sessions will be just fine.
